Does the e2o Plus' safety features give you the confidence to drive on Indian roads?

Mahindra could do more to inspire confidence, I think. Why not get a EuroNCAP rating? Crash test results would be more transparent. It just feels like we’re taking their word for it right now.
What does the e2o Plus offer compared to similarly priced, petrol hatchbacks?

The e2o Plus is a blast in the city! It has the instant torque to feel quicker than most petrol cars off the line. But it's perfect for zipping through traffic. Yeah, but it feels out of breath on highways.
What does the e2o Plus offer compared to similarly priced, petrol hatchbacks?

No comparison, really. At higher speeds, my friend's Swift seems a lot more planted and confident. On inclines, the e2o struggles and its top speed is a joke.
What does the e2o Plus offer compared to similarly priced, petrol hatchbacks?
31 December 2024 10:14
It's apples and oranges. In stop and go traffic where petrol cars are at their worst, the e2o is a winner. However, for longer drives and if you like to drive a petrol hatch remains more fun and more versatile.
What does the e2o Plus offer compared to similarly priced, petrol hatchbacks?

In fact, I really like the smooth, linear acceleration of the e2o over the jerky nature of small petrol engines. It’s all down to perspective, it’s a great city car if you embrace its strengths.

The running costs are the real advantage. It’s not as quick as a petrol car, sure, but the savings on fuel more than make up for it. For most urban needs, it's quick enough.
Is the e2o Plus a viable fleet vehicle for businesses or a vehicle for ride sharing?
31 December 2024 10:14
I have a small car rental business and we added two e2o Plus to our fleet. They do make for perfect short city trips, and the running costs are great. The downside is they have limited range so we can’t use them for longer rentals.

As a frequent Uber user I would hate to be stuck in an e2o Plus. I'd be worried the battery would run low and get stranded, and it's too small. Not practical at all for ride sharing.
Is the e2o Plus a viable fleet vehicle for businesses or a vehicle for ride sharing?
31 December 2024 10:14
With the right infrastructure, it could work. It might be viable if ride sharing companies set up their own fast charging network. The big problem at the moment is the downtime for charging.
Is the e2o Plus a viable fleet vehicle for businesses or a vehicle for ride sharing?

I believe it works well for some niche markets. Campus transportation, planned city short distance taxi services, or hotel shuttles, etc. But for general ride-sharing? Not yet.

It's a good idea, but the e2o Plus isn't the right car for it. And we need something with more space and range. It might make more sense for fleets when Mahindra launches a bigger electric sedan or SUV.

I really want it, but it's the rear visibility I'm worried about. Parking could be a nightmare with those tiny windows and thick pillars.

I wouldn't mind that sloping roof, but I would bet that tall people will hate sitting in the back. Style is less important than practicality for a family SUV.

Cargo space might be limited by the styling, but how much do you really need? It's probably enough for daily use for most people.

I'm more worried about how it will deal with speed bumps and potholes with that low front end. Indian roads can be brutal.

It might be easier to find in a parking lot because of the distinctive look. No more of that losing your car in a sea of identical SUVs!

Those range figures are too good to be true. I'll believe it when real world tests from actual owners are posted.
