Discussions and Questions Hyundai Alcazar
Is the Hyundai Alcazar an overpriced Creta with extra seats?
02 January 2025 07:10
It’s way more than just a Creta with extra seats. The Alcazar gets longer wheelbase, different suspension tuning and some unique features like the 360 degree camera. Plus, the third row, while not very capacious, makes a lot of sense for families.
Is the Hyundai Alcazar an overpriced Creta with extra seats?
02 January 2025 07:10
Overpriced? Absolutely. Essentially, what you’re paying a hefty premium for is a stretched Creta with a cramped third row. It’s not that the extra features don’t justify the price jump, but it is simply that for the same money you can get a proper 7 seater like the Tata Safari.
Is the Hyundai Alcazar an overpriced Creta with extra seats?
02 January 2025 07:10
It really depends on what your needs are. If you don’t need those extra seats all the time, and want a slightly more premium feel than the Creta, the Alcazar makes sense. If you're going to always use it as a 5 seater then the Creta is the sensible choice and you save some money too.
Is the Hyundai Alcazar an overpriced Creta with extra seats?
02 January 2025 07:10
I’d say, as an Alcazar owner, it’s worth it. The feel is more upmarket with features like extra ventilated seats and wireless charging and the ride quality feels way better than that of the Creta. For small families that need occasional 7 seat capability but don’t want the full size SUV, it’s perfect.
Is the Hyundai Alcazar an overpriced Creta with extra seats?
02 January 2025 07:10
Come on, it’s a marketing gimmick. Hyundai was riding on the success of Creta, and wanted to milk it further. The Alcazar is just a way to give more money for a car that is essentially the same with little changes. You’re buying more the Hyundai badge than anything else.
Do we actually need the third row of the Alcazar?
02 January 2025 07:10
For what it's worth, I own an Alcazar and the third row is actually pretty useful. It’s great for kids on school runs or short trips with friends. Yes, it’s not the most comfortable for long journeys, but when those extra seats are needed, it’s a lifesaver.
Do we actually need the third row of the Alcazar?
02 January 2025 07:10
Let’s be honest, the Alcazar’s third row is a joke. It’s cramped, uncomfortable and takes up all the boot space when in use. If you need more regular seven seat capability you’re better off with a proper MPV like the Innova.
Do we actually need the third row of the Alcazar?
02 January 2025 07:10
I believe the practicality is based on your lifestyle. It’s great for a small family that sometimes needs to transport grandparents or friends. If you're going to use all seven seats most of the time, larger options will be preferable, however.
Do we actually need the third row of the Alcazar?
02 January 2025 07:10
The flexibility is what the third row is more about than comfort. At least you have the option there, when you need it. And when folded down, you have a huge boot. It depends on what you will use the car for.
Do we actually need the third row of the Alcazar?
02 January 2025 07:10
As a tall person, I can never use the third row. My kids love it back there, but ... They have their own little space. I suppose it all depends on who will be sitting there most of the time.
Is the Alcazar's 1.5L turbo petrol engine underpowered for a 7 seater?
02 January 2025 07:10
The 1.5L turbo feels plenty powerful and I’ve test driven the Alcazar. It has good torque at low end, which is what you need in city driving. It’s not a speed demon, sure, but for a family SUV it’s more than enough.
Is the Alcazar's 1.5L turbo petrol engine underpowered for a 7 seater?
02 January 2025 07:10
Underpowered is an understatement. Go uphill with a full load and you'll be wishing for more horses. Hyundai should have kept the 2.0L engine from the previous model. This is getting ridiculous: Downsizing trend.
Is the Alcazar's 1.5L turbo petrol engine underpowered for a 7 seater?
02 January 2025 07:10
It's all about expectations. If you come from a smaller car, you will find the Alcazar very powerful. If you’re accustomed to larger SUVs, or you regularly need to haul heavy loads, you may feel shortchanged. It is a compromise between having power and being efficient.
Is the Alcazar's 1.5L turbo petrol engine underpowered for a 7 seater?
02 January 2025 07:10
I can say as an Alcazar owner that the engine is fine for 90% of driving situations. But if you’re loaded down on the highways, you might wish for more power. After all, how often do you actually do that?
Is the Alcazar's 1.5L turbo petrol engine underpowered for a 7 seater?
02 January 2025 07:10
It’s not just the power, it’s the tuning. The DCT gearbox isn't too kind with the turbo engine, and there's a bit of lag and jerky shifting. Probably a larger NA engine would drive smoother in regular day to day driving.
Does the Alcazar make sense in terms of the Creta's premium features compared to the Alcazar's price?
02 January 2025 07:10
Absolutely! The Creta feels like an upgrade, and the Alcazar feels like a proper upgrade. The 360-degree camera alone is a game changer for parking in tight spots. It also feels much more premium, thanks to the larger infotainment screen, and the digital instrument cluster.
Does the Alcazar make sense in terms of the Creta's premium features compared to the Alcazar's price?
02 January 2025 07:10
No way. It’s just too much of a price difference for what you get. All of the "premium" features are just gimmicks. If you want luxury, you’re better off saving the cash and getting a top spec Creta or moving up to a proper premium brand.
Does the Alcazar make sense in terms of the Creta's premium features compared to the Alcazar's price?
02 January 2025 07:10
It depends on what you value. If you want the extra seats, and you like having all the latest tech, then yeah, it's worth it. If all you are looking for is a comfortable 5 seater SUV, the Creta is definitely a better value for money.
Does the Alcazar make sense in terms of the Creta's premium features compared to the Alcazar's price?
02 January 2025 07:10
I cross shopped both and ended up with the Alcazar because of this. They do make a difference in day to day use. It’s things like the ventilated seats and wireless charging that add up and make for a better ownership experience.
Does the Alcazar make sense in terms of the Creta's premium features compared to the Alcazar's price?
02 January 2025 07:10
I think Hyundai set the price point wrong. To make this a no brainer upgrade, the Alcazar should be closer to the Creta. With its current price point it's up against some serious players who provide more bang for the buck.
