Do we actually need the third row of the Alcazar?
Another big selling point of the Alcazar is its third row of seats, something the Creta does not offer and which makes the Alcazar more of a family vehicle. But the practicality, and especially the comfort of these seats, have proven to be a bone of contention among potential buyers as well as car reviewers. Others say that the third row is too cramped for adults and is really only for children or very short trips. They also note that while the two extra seats may not be used often, having the option to have them there at all provides a great amount of flexibility to the vehicle. The question also goes further to look at the usefulness of third rows in compact SUVs and whether they are worth the tradeoff in boot space and overall vehicle dynamics.
For what it's worth, I own an Alcazar and the third row is actually pretty useful. It’s great for kids on school runs or short trips with friends. Yes, it’s not the most comfortable for long journeys, but when those extra seats are needed, it’s a lifesaver.
Let’s be honest, the Alcazar’s third row is a joke. It’s cramped, uncomfortable and takes up all the boot space when in use. If you need more regular seven seat capability you’re better off with a proper MPV like the Innova.
I believe the practicality is based on your lifestyle. It’s great for a small family that sometimes needs to transport grandparents or friends. If you're going to use all seven seats most of the time, larger options will be preferable, however.
The flexibility is what the third row is more about than comfort. At least you have the option there, when you need it. And when folded down, you have a huge boot. It depends on what you will use the car for.
As a tall person, I can never use the third row. My kids love it back there, but ... They have their own little space. I suppose it all depends on who will be sitting there most of the time.
