The scooter achieves acceptable fuel efficiency, which fails to meet Honda's exceptional performance claims. During mixed riding conditions, I achieve fuel efficiency of around 2.5L/100km (94 mpg). Expect excellent performance but no extraordinary results.

Your riding style determines your actual mileage performance. When you always operate at maximum speed, the fuel economy of your vehicle starts to decline. My aggressive riding technique produces fuel consumption of 2.4L/100km, which equals 98 mpg.

Long-distance travel at continuous speed reveals the PCX 160's highest fuel efficiency. During my highway journeys, I’ve achieved 2.0 liters of fuel consumption per 100 km, which translates to 117 miles per gallon and stands as an exceptional performance.
How efficient does the Honda PCX 160 perform when driven under normal conditions?

It achieves good real-world efficiency levels but falls short of the performance of my broken-in Yamaha NMAX. The NMAX delivered marginally better fuel economy than the PCX, which offers superior comfort.
How efficient does the Honda PCX 160 perform when driven under normal conditions?

The PCX delivered a fuel efficiency of 2.3L/100km (102 mpg) after covering 10,000 kilometers. When the scooter was new, its performance surpassed current levels but remains surprisingly efficient. To maintain good efficiency, you need to perform regular maintenance.

My larger size sometimes means I take my bike passenger rides with me. Riding with a passenger, the vehicle achieves fuel efficiency of approximately 2.6L/100km (90 mpg), which I believe is strong performance for two-up travel.

The scooter performs well when it comes to fuel efficiency, yet the maximum distance it can travel before needing a refuel stands out even more. A big fuel tank allows me to travel over 300 km without refueling. It's perfect for longer trips.
Would the Honda PCX 160 perform well on extended riding trips?

During a 360km journey across Vietnam on my PCX 160, I discovered the ride to be unexpectedly comfortable. The seat shows significant improvements from earlier versions while the engine runs very smoothly. You need to pause periodically and perform stretches throughout your ride.
Would the Honda PCX 160 perform well on extended riding trips?

Long-distance? No way. This scooter works best for urban travel because it's basically a city scooter. Extended highway travel will produce fatigue when you spend hours going at highway speeds. The PCX 160 works best when you stay within the city and use it for quick jaunts from place to place.
Would the Honda PCX 160 perform well on extended riding trips?

How you define "long-distance" determines your perspective. The scooter worked fine for 200 km rides, but touring with it would be too much. Riding at fast speeds becomes exhausting because there isn't enough wind protection.
Would the Honda PCX 160 perform well on extended riding trips?

This will work, but it remains a less desirable option. With good fuel efficiency you'll spend less time refueling, but small wheels and limited suspension travel create discomfort on rough roads.
Would the Honda PCX 160 perform well on extended riding trips?

Absolutely! The weekend trips I've conducted with mine proved excellent overall. A small bag fits perfectly into the underseat storage while the top box offers enough room for your gear. On the highway, bigger bikes will outpace this motorcycle.

The rider plays the most important role in long-distance biking success. This scooter works well for long journeys when you stay comfortable and pause for breaks. My experiences with touring on 50cc scooters prove that a 160cc scooter has enough capability.
Would the Honda PCX 160 perform well on extended riding trips?

I wouldn't recommend it. The PCX 160 works well for your daily commute yet requires a stronger and more ergonomic motorcycle for extended travels. Build up your finances until you can purchase the correct touring bicycle you need.
Would the Honda PCX 160 perform well on extended riding trips?

It's all about managing expectations. The PCX 160 can technically take you on long rides. Sure. Can this motorcycle match dedicated touring bikes regarding comfort levels and speed capabilities? Nope. People who enjoy challenges will find this experience entertaining!
What performance does the Honda PCX 150 deliver when compared to class competitors while driving on highways?
28 January 2025 10:01
After numerous highway rides on my PCX the motorcycle proves capable enough for highway travel. The scooter maintains a cruising speed of 65 mph which works well for majority of driving conditions. Although stability is lacking next to bigger models this scooter manages the necessary performance. The PCX holds a standard performance level among 150cc scooters I have tested.
What performance does the Honda PCX 150 deliver when compared to class competitors while driving on highways?

When I use the PCX on the highway its performance seems weaker than my friend's Yamaha SMAX. The PCX struggles when climbing highways steep inclines and passing moving trucks becomes quite stressful. For highway use you should consider upgrading to a scooter with no less than 200cc displacement.
What performance does the Honda PCX 150 deliver when compared to class competitors while driving on highways?
28 January 2025 10:01
When used on highways the PCX performs adequately. The PCX performs well beyond 125cc scooters yet doesn't achieve the same level of performance as 300cc maxi-scooters. This machine represents a balanced option for people who need to cover city roads and handle some highway driving. Driving this scooter at high speeds won't make you master of the fast lane.
What performance does the Honda PCX 150 deliver when compared to class competitors while driving on highways?

Compared to other 150cc scooters I've ridden I prefer the PCX when I drive on the highway. A longer wheelbase delivers better stability while driving fast plus the aerodynamic design appears superior. It lacks speed but delivers solid confident handling.

You can ride the PCX on highways but it won't be a pleasant experience. The bike gives limited wind protection while constantly showing its performance reaches its peak. At the end of the day I exchanged mine for a Vespa GTS 300 because it handled highways better.
