The build quality isn't what it used to be, but mine's been okay. It feels a bit flimsier than the old model my dad has.

It's the price, you can't beat it. It's not perfect, but I'll show you another bike that's this cheap and runs this long.

People confuse reliable with simple to fix, I think. It does break down, but parts are cheap and easy to replace.

According to my mechanic friend, he sees more CT 100s in his shop than any other bike. Take that as you will.

With some mods, it's doable. On longer rides I added a gel seat and it made a world of difference.

It's all about expectations. Of course it falls short if you compare it to a touring bike. But for its class? It's surprisingly capable.

On a long trip, I’d rather walk than take a CT100. That kind of riding just isn’t built for that.

Absolutely. In 5 years I have spent peanuts on maintenance and it still gives me 80+ kmpl. Can't beat that economy.

It's cheap until it isn't. Those little repairs add up real quick, and next thing you know you've spent more than on a better bike.

It's unbeatable for pure commuting. If you want more than that from your bike, however, you will ultimately pay more.

If your time isn't valuable, it's cost effective. Add in all the hours spent at the mechanic and it's a different story.

In the heat it's surprisingly good. They’ve ridden mine in 45°C weather and have had no issues. It seems to be doing okay with the simple air cooled engine.

Terrible in heavy rain. I’ve had starting issues during monsoons and the electrics are prone to water damage.
