Is the Bajaj CT 100 ES really reliable as people say it is?

The Bajaj CT 100 ES is a workhorse that has been around for years. Although there are some issues, many owners swear by the reliability of it, with bikes running over a decade with little problems. But some users have had problems starting it, especially in cold weather or after a long period of disuse. Recent models are also debated over the quality of parts used in them as compared to the older versions. Some say it's about proper maintenance; others say the bike is designed improperly, and flaws will become apparent over time. Affordability of the CT 100 ES is often brought into these talks with some wondering if its low price point affects durability in the long run.

I've had my CT 100 ES for 7 years, and it has been rock solid. And it just keeps chugging along with just regular oil changes.

Reliable? Maybe 10 years ago. My 2022 model has had nothing but issues since day one. Constant starting problems.

It's all about maintenance. If you treat it right it'll last forever. You'll have problems with any bike if you neglect it.

The build quality isn't what it used to be, but mine's been okay. It feels a bit flimsier than the old model my dad has.

It's the price, you can't beat it. It's not perfect, but I'll show you another bike that's this cheap and runs this long.

People confuse reliable with simple to fix, I think. It does break down, but parts are cheap and easy to replace.

According to my mechanic friend, he sees more CT 100s in his shop than any other bike. Take that as you will.
