Will Maruti’s premium pricing strategy for Invicto find an audience for a brand that has been known for budget cars?
31 December 2024 08:56
Maruti is taking a big risk, I think. Maruti is synonymous with affordability, and asking people to shell out 30 lakhs for a Maruti might be a little hard. To justify that price they need to really step up their game in terms of quality and features.

Maruti's image has already been changed by the Nexa brand. The Invicto may be the next step in that evolution. People will pay for it, if they can deliver a truly premium experience, badge be damned.
Will Maruti’s premium pricing strategy for Invicto find an audience for a brand that has been known for budget cars?
31 December 2024 08:56
I'm skeptical. If you’re selling at that price point, you’re competing with premium brands that are already established. There is nothing special for Maruti to offer buyers to make them choose them over more prestigious names.

It’s about value proposition. The Invicto may find its niche if it can provide features, as well as quality similar to that of the more expensive rivals and take advantage of Maruti's strengths such as low maintenance costs and widespread service network.

I love it! Why must affordable cars not look good? So what's the harm if it gives Dzire owners a little extra pride?
Is the new design of Dzire too 'Audi-like' for its own good?

It's trying too hard. Instead, the Dzire should be a practical, no nonsense car that doesn't dress up.
Is the new design of Dzire too 'Audi-like' for its own good?

This could backfire. Maruti might soon start hearing people start calling it the 'poor man's Audi' and that's not a great image.
Is the new design of Dzire too 'Audi-like' for its own good?
30 December 2024 07:40
I think it's clever. That makes the car look more expensive than it is, and it's good for resale value.
Is the new design of Dzire too 'Audi-like' for its own good?
30 December 2024 07:40
I'm fine with it as long as it's not a direct copy. The auto industry inspires itself all the time.

It's a bit much. I liked it better when Dzire had its own identity in the market.
