Skoda has updated the Rapid Monte Carlo with minor cosmetic changes, including new black alloys and a black front lip and side spoilers. The prices remain unchanged, with the Rapid continuing to retail from Rs 7.79 lakh to Rs 13.29 lakh (ex-showroom India). The Monte Carlo variant also features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and a parking camera. I think these updates make the Rapid Monte Carlo a more appealing option in its segment.

The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo now comes with a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine, producing 110PS and 175Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle retains features like height-adjustable driver’s seat, tilt and telescopic steering, auto AC, and projector headlamps with LED DRLs. The automatic variants also get hill launch assist and electronic stability program. I believe the new engine adds a significant boost to the cars performance.

Skoda introduced the Rapid Monte Carlo edition in India, featuring a unique red shade, black grille, wing mirrors, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The interior includes an all-black theme, faux-carbon fibre trim, a flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel, and unique floor mats. The car is available with both petrol and diesel engine options, with the diesel version generating 108bhp and the petrol version generating 103bhp. I think the cosmetic changes give the Rapid a sporty and premium look.

The Rapid Monte Carlo edition is expected to be launched soon, with changes limited to cosmetic detailing. It will feature a new unique body color, black shaded grille, wing mirrors, 16-inch alloy wheels, and a tailgate spoiler. The interior will have an all-black theme and faux-carbon fibre trim. The pricing is speculated to be around Rs 30,000 – Rs 50,000 more than the regular top-spec model. I believe this edition will attract buyers looking for a stylish and sporty sedan.

Skoda first introduced the Rapid Monte Carlo edition internationally in 2015 to pay homage to the companys racing history. The edition was designed to enhance the cars sporty appearance without altering its mechanical specifications. This move was part of Skodas strategy to offer unique and appealing variants to their customers. I think this strategy helps in keeping the brand fresh and exciting.
