The final update for the GEN•2 was introduced on May 20, 2010, featuring two variants: Medium-Line (auto only) and High-Line (manual and auto). This update included mild exterior and interior changes, a more powerful CamPro CPS 1.6 engine for the Medium-Line, and a price drop. The updates made the GEN•2 more competitive.

All Proton GEN•2s were equipped with at least a drivers airbag, with higher trim lines in developed markets like the UK, New Zealand, and Australia featuring up to four airbags. This emphasis on safety was a significant selling point for the vehicle.
