General information and overview

I sum up the Nissan 370Z as India's rare analog sports icon—a two-door, two-seater coupe with a 3.7-litre V6 engine delivering 328bhp and 363Nm, paired to a six-speed manual or seven-speed auto, all channeling rear-wheel drive for addictive dynamics. Launched around 2008 and available here via imports, it boasts sharp styling with updated bumpers and lights, a snug cockpit with supportive seats and decent infotainment, plus strong brakes and chassis poise that excel on winding roads. In India, I value its 0-100kmph prowess under 5 seconds, playful drift potential, and high-revving character over tech-heavy rivals, though the stiff suspension jars over potholes and limited service network demands planning. At Rs 55 lakh ex-showroom, it's a collector's thrill for solo drives, not practical hauls—perfect if I crave raw engagement without Supra-level premiums.

The Nissan 370Z stands as India's purebred sports coupe icon, packing a 3.7-litre V6 engine with 328bhp and 363Nm torque into a compact two-door, two-seater body that's all about rear-wheel-drive excitement. I value its six-speed manual or seven-speed auto transmission paired with a limited-slip diff for sharp handling, updated 2018 bumpers, LED lights, and 19-inch wheels that give it aggressive stance akin to pricier exotics. Inside, supportive seats, Alcantara options, and a driver-focused cockpit shine for long hauls, though space is tight and infotainment basic. Launched here around 2010 at Rs 53 lakh, it remains available via imports with strong user praise for drift-friendly dynamics, Lambo-esque looks, and solid build. Key aspects include excellent body control on ghat roads, high-revving character up to 7,500rpm, and track-ready brakes, but note the firm ride suits enthusiasts over families. For buying, it's ideal if you chase analog fun in a market flooded with turbo hatches—reliable with proper care, though service intervals demand premium fuel and vigilance on clutch wear for manuals.

Our Verdict

Expert opinion and recommendation

I find the Nissan 370Z to be a pure thrill machine that delivers unfiltered driving joy in India's demanding roads, with its naturally aspirated 3.7-litre V6 pumping out 328bhp and 363Nm for explosive acceleration and that classic muscle-car howl under hard throttle. Pushing through corners on twisty ghat sections, the rear-wheel-drive setup and well-sorted suspension offer razor-sharp handling and impressive grip, making every drive feel alive and engaging without relying on modern tech gimmicks. I love how the six-speed manual sharpens your focus, demanding precise inputs that reward skilled drivers, while the compact two-seater cockpit wraps you in a purposeful, low-slung position perfect for spirited runs. In India, where potholes and traffic test patience, it shines on open highways, drifting playfully when provoked, though the stiff ride and droney engine at cruise remind you it's no daily commuter. At this price, it undercuts flashier rivals yet stands out for its raw, analog character—ideal if I prioritize fun over refinement, but I'd advise against it for families or fuel-conscious buyers seeking all-round practicality.

I find the Nissan 370Z to be a thrilling throwback to pure analog sports car joy in India's market, where its 3.7-litre V6 naturally aspirated engine pumps out 328bhp and 363Nm, delivering explosive acceleration and that addictive high-revving howl that modern turbo cars can't match. Behind the wheel, I love how the rear-wheel-drive setup and six-speed manual (or seven-speed auto) option let me hustle through twisty ghat roads with razor-sharp steering and planted grip, making every drive feel alive and engaging, far from the numb all-wheel-drive norm. In India, where potholes and bumpy highways test suspension, its firm ride soaks up impacts better than expected while keeping body control tight for spirited runs. Sure, the cabin feels dated with basic plastics and limited tech, and it's thirsty on fuel, but for enthusiasts craving raw emotion over gadgets, this two-seater coupe is a riot that outperforms pricier rivals in fun factor. I recommend it if you prioritize driving purity and weekend blasts over daily comfort or efficiency—it's a keeper for track days and long cruises, though maintenance costs will add up with Nissan's sparse service network.

Recent news and announcements

The 2024 Nissan Z NISMO has been praised for its track performance, particularly at Virginia International Raceway. With 420 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque, it outshines its predecessors. However, its stiffness and brake inconsistency make it less comfortable on regular roads. I think this trade-off is worth it for hardcore enthusiasts, but it might not be the best choice for daily driving.
July 12, 2024
Nissan has introduced the 2024 Z NISMO, which features significant performance upgrades including a more powerful twin-turbo V6 engine, NISMO-tuned suspension, and enhanced aerodynamic bodywork. This model is designed for track-ready performance and includes a new Sport+ drive mode for dynamic shifting. I believe these upgrades make the Z NISMO a compelling option for serious performance drivers.
June 17, 2024
The 2024 Nissan Z has been redesigned with a focus on both retro style and modern technology. It comes with a 400-horsepower twin-turbo V6 engine and a choice between a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic transmission. However, it lacks the satisfying drive experience of some other sports cars at the limit. I think the balance between comfort and performance is a good compromise for many drivers.
May 21, 2024
Nissans seventh generation of the Z sports car has debuted, dropping the numerical naming convention in favor of simply Z. This new model retains traditional elements like rear-wheel drive and a two-seat layout but incorporates modern features such as a twin-turbo V6 and digital instrument panel. I believe this blend of old and new is a great direction for the Z series.
April 15, 2024
The 2024 Nissan Z NISMO includes several interior enhancements, such as red-anodized engine-start and drive mode buttons, manual-adjust Recaro seats, and a leather and Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel. These additions enhance the overall driving experience and differentiate the NISMO from other Z models. I think these details make the NISMO feel more premium and track-focused.

Pricing details and changes

In India, I note the Nissan 370Z's ex-showroom price in New Delhi hovers around Rs 55.50 lakh for the base variant, climbing to Rs 56.50 lakh for higher trims, with the manual at approximately Rs 53.5 lakh and automatic at Rs 54.5 lakh based on past listings—though current dealer quotes may vary slightly due to taxes and updates. On-road pricing pushes it to Rs 65-70 lakh in major cities like Delhi or Mumbai, factoring in 10-15% road tax, 12-18% insurance, RTO registration, and fastag fees, which can inflate costs notably in high-tax states like Karnataka or Maharashtra. I see this as a strong value proposition for a 328bhp sports coupe; it undercuts pricier imports like the Porsche Cayman while matching their thrill factor, making it a smart buy for enthusiasts chasing performance per rupee. Running costs bite with premium fuel and high insurance premiums—expect Rs 2-3 lakh annually on maintenance—but resale holds decently among collectors. If budget stretches here, I grab it for the unmatched bang-for-buck adrenaline, skipping costlier alternatives that dilute the pure driving essence.

In India, the Nissan 370Z commands ex-showroom prices of Rs 53.5 lakh for the manual variant and Rs 54.5 lakh for the automatic in New Delhi, recently listed up to Rs 55.5-56.5 lakh depending on final specs from dealers. On-road prices push this to around Rs 62-65 lakh in major cities like Delhi or Mumbai, factoring in 12-15% road tax, 10-12% insurance, RTO registration, and fastag fees—expect variations by state, with Kerala or Karnataka adding premium due to higher taxes. As I see it, this pricing positions the 370Z as a value play against costlier Porsche 718s or even used GT-Rs, offering supercar-rivaling thrills for under Rs 60 lakh on-road. I appreciate how Nissan priced it accessibly back when launched, targeting 50+ annual sales to enthusiasts, but import duties and low volumes mean resale holds decently if maintained well. For buyers, weigh the premium fuel and parts costs against rivals like a loaded BMW Z4; if raw V6 power and manual fun are your game, the outlay justifies itself over sanitized alternatives—finance at 9-10% interest keeps EMIs around Rs 1 lakh monthly for five years.

Mileage

Fuel efficiency information

I get around 8-10kmpl in mixed Indian conditions with the 370Z's thirsty 3.7 V6, dropping to 6-7kmpl in aggressive city or highway sprints, per user reports—premium petrol at Rs 110/litre means Rs 15-20/km running costs. For mileage-focused buyers, I skip it; opt for efficient sedans instead, as this prioritizes power over economy, hiking ownership expenses significantly.
December 14, 2025
In Indian conditions, I get 6-8kmpl in the city with traffic and AC, stretching to 10-12kmpl on highways at steady 100kmph cruises, real-world tested on mixed runs. Running costs bite at Rs 15-20 per km on premium petrol, so for high-mileage buyers, I'd skip it—opt for efficient dailies instead, as this V6 prioritizes thrills over thrift.

Nissan 370Z is a true depiction of power and strength which is evident from both its styling and its engine specifications.

It has been four years since Japanese automobile major Nissan decided to lift the covers off its much-hyped sports car 370z and launched it in the US market. The response to the car was overwhelming and it took three years for Nissan to bring 370z to the Indian automobile market which at the present day is said to be one of the most thriving automobile markets in the world. There are basically two variants of Nissan 370z that are presently running in India one of which has automatic transmission whereas the other one has manual transmission. Nissan 370z is a highly revered sports car and is usually referred to as the sidekick of Skyline GTR series which the company will be launching soon in India. 370z was given a grand opening in India and Nissan enthusiasts were in awe of the looks as well as performance that 370z promised.

Exterior

The outer appearance of Nissan 370z gives a perfect rendition of a muscular and dominant sports car having powerful engine breathing beneath its hood. The exterior design of 370z maintains uniqueness amongst other cars of its class owing to the boomerang headlights. The front grille has been made to give an aggressive appeal and the Bi-Xenon lights come equipped with projector beam lens which gives a bright luminance thereby increasing visibility even in dense fog. The door mirrors have been specifically power-heated and painted accordingly in order to make sure that there is no entry path for Ultraviolet rays in the interior of the car. The front as well as the rear bumpers bears pearl paint. The orientation of the door handles is upwards in sync with the wheels.

Interior

The interiors of Nissan 370z bear a superfluity of agreeable features which give a very warming appeal. Three layers namely operation layer, information layer and holding layer have been used in order to design the dashboard of 370z. Information layer basically focuses on the easy access as well as visibility of the dashboard. Next, the operation layer comprises of the switch gear, shifter and steering wheel. Lastly, the holding layer basically comprises of knee pads, door trim support and seats. Three gauges have been installed to the dashboard namely voltage, time and oil temperature. The tachometer is easily perceptible as it has been installed on a large diameter and intimidates the driver regarding the right time to shift the gear. The design of steering wheel makes sure that the meter is easily visible.

Comfort and Convenience

Nissan has left no stones unturned in providing the best level of comfort for owners of 370z. The seat covers bear the same colour as that of the skin. The paddle shifters are magnesium coloured whereas the ALA shifter is silver coloured. There are a wide variety of features oriented towards comfort such as cruise control, adjustable steering, map lamp, power windows, advanced audio system, visors, automatic climate control AC, audio controls mounted on steering wheel, compartment central console, power steering, cup holders, rear defroster with timer, remote opening, windshield washer, insurance central locking, front power windows, smart key, electric seats for both passenger as well as the driver, etc. Nissan 370z has a seating capacity of two people and there is ample storage space behind the seats.

Music System

Nissan 370z is equipped with a high-end audio system that comes with two sub-woofers. A total of 6 speakers have been fitted strategically all around the cabin in order to ensure superior surround sound. Additionally, for ease of the driver, audio controls have been mounted on the steering wheel as well. 370z comes with dual climate control air conditioning system which ensures that the temperature in the cabin remains balanced according to the comfort level of the passengers individually. The air conditioning system additionally comes with heating options as well.

This powerful engine gives Nissan 370r a superior rate of acceleration as it can easily go from 0-100 Km/hr in 6.8 seconds with a top speed of 257 Km/hr. The engine basically operates according to Continuous Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVVTCS) along with Variable Valve Event & Lift (VVEL) Technology.
