Maruti Suzuki has stopped the production of the SX4, making way for the newer Ciaz model. This move indicates the companys strategy to focus on more successful and modern vehicles. I think this decision is wise, given the evolving market preferences and the need to stay competitive.

Maruti Suzuki unveiled the SX4 S Cross at the 2014 Auto Expo, showcasing a crossover that combined the features of a sedan and an SUV. This move was part of the companys effort to diversify its product lineup and appeal to a broader audience. I think this was an interesting experiment, but it didnt quite resonate with Indian buyers as expected.

Despite being one of Indias largest automakers, Maruti Suzuki struggled to achieve success with the SX4, particularly in the price segment above Rs. 8-9 lakhs. The model never gained the same popularity as some of its other offerings like the Baleno or Grand Vitara. I believe this highlights the competitive nature of the Indian auto market and the need for continuous innovation.

The Maruti SX4 facelift was softly launched in India on April 1, 2013. This update brought improved exteriors, interiors, and better fuel economy, with the petrol version offering 16.51 kmpl and the diesel version offering 21.79 kmpl. I believe these enhancements were a step in the right direction, but the model still faced challenges in gaining significant market traction.

The Maruti SX4 VXi and other variants were priced between Rs. 7.15 lakh and Rs. 9.54 lakh, offering various fuel options including petrol, diesel, and CNG. The models mileage ranged from 16.51 kmpl to 22.1 km/kg, depending on the fuel type. I think the pricing and fuel efficiency were competitive, but the model lacked the appeal to stand out in a crowded market.

Maruti SX4 VXi Discussion
SX 4 diesal fully loaded version and regret for having bought one. Nice and spacious.
The noise of engine is completely heard inside the cabin. Though its interiors are spacious... But they dont have good looks. .. Yeah it is a fully loaded car... Performance is excellent..
u wright mark
really awesome car to go for a ride
Sx4 is a good car in sedan class. It have good pickup good milage etc. It is better than swift dzire.
I do own a SX 4 diesal fully loaded version and regret for having bought one. The car was purchased from M/s. Solamalai Maruti, Madurai, worst car dealer I have ever come across. The car is not worth the money, fuel efficiency is bad, i get only 13 on city and 16 on highway that at a normal speed of 100KPH. The stud was replaced before i could click 15000kms and now the link rod is giving huge noise and dealer is refusing to replace it. The car does not need a horn. Comfort is negative in the car
No not at all... Please i strongly recommend u not to buy it... Its a uncaged. .. Uncontrolled bull... After 100 kmph it becomes to vibrate... The noise of engine is completely heard inside the cabin. Though its interiors are spacious... But they dont have good looks. .. Yeah it is a fully loaded car... Performance is excellent... Looks are poor... Odd lagti h
The Maruti SX4 (new version fitted with VVT engine) is an amazing vehicle. I have purchased the ZXi (leather) version and without any doubt I can state that it is a true value car loaded with lot of features like alloy wheels, ABS, EBD, leather seats, climate control AC etc. which no other manufacturer is offering.
High ground clearance and 16 inch wheels are added advantages. Despite of all these advantages many people are blindly going after another brand, so called the market leader which may be slightly economical on city roads and people are ready to pay 1-1.5 lakh extra just for nothing and only for the brand image which is not at all justifiable. So go for SX4. You will never regret.
SX4 has the biggest wheels in its class so it has a great pick up but low mileage but anyway. i am a dude and dudes don't sacrifice great pick up, sporty and attracting look and spacious interiors only for mileage. so go for sx4.
SX4 has awesome power. You come to appreciate this when you are overtaking slow trucks on our ridiculously narrow state highways. Nice and spacious. You can go on road trips with loads of stuff on the back seat (you know, coke/beer, chips, blanket .. what more? go for Sx4!!!
Its a hot car .. soo nice ,..
SUPERB.... Truly Awesome.
I was using a SX 4 Zxi since June 2007 and was thinking changing to Automatic Transmission hence I was comparing Verna Diesel Automatc and Honda City Automatic and practically finalised with Honda City as we also have a honda City CVT in the family .
In September this year saw the news that SX 4 is coming out with Automatic version which Maruti did not confirm for a month. I put the Honda Purchase on Hold. They launched the Car in October and I was first to book the Automatic Variant and received it on 10th December as promised.
I drove to Pune and back on 11th and I am completely satisfied with its performance People are biased with Honda City and pay 2 lakhs more for it..... My experience with SX4 is otherwise for Bombay Pune I prefer SX 4 anytime with its Ground Clearance which Honda City can not match .
The Ghats Drive was much smoother than the Manual Sx 4 which was exchanged with the dealership and I am quite happy Maruti introduced the automatic Version I got 14.5 Km/Ltr for my journey which is nice compared to added comfort of Drive and the feel of Power ! I will strongly recommend this SX4 Zxi AT variant
New Maruti SX4 is best car in its segment in terms of driving....really..., take a drive and feel the difference
