USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Maruti NEXA S-Cross Diesel Sigma is a solid choice for those looking for a reliable and feature-packed crossover. While it may not be the most powerful option in its segment, its 1.3-litre DDiS 200 Smart Hybrid diesel engine provides decent performance and impressive fuel efficiency. The ride quality is commendable, keeping the cabin composed over rough roads, and the addition of SHVS technology enhances driveability and fuel efficiency. However, the lack of rear AC vents and the all-black interior can make the rear cabin take time to cool down. Overall, its a sensible and practical choice, especially for those who value comfort, features, and Marutis extensive service network.
Price
The Maruti NEXA S-Cross Diesel Sigma was priced competitively in the Indian market. At the time of its discontinuation, the ex-showroom price for the Sigma variant was around Rs 8.95 lakh. On-road prices varied by location but generally fell in the range of Rs 9.71 lakh to Rs 10.62 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing made it an attractive option for buyers seeking a feature-rich crossover without breaking the bank. The value for money, combined with Marutis reputation for reliability and low maintenance costs, made the S-Cross a compelling choice.
Latest Updates
Monday, 11 July 2022 01:19 PM Maruti Suzuki has discontinued the S-Cross, including the Diesel Sigma variant, and replaced it with the Grand Vitara in their NEXA lineup. This move marks the end of the S-Crosss run in the Indian market. I think this is a strategic move to refresh their product lineup and cater to changing consumer preferences.
Sunday, 09 August 2020 11:43 AM The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Diesel Sigma was powered by a 1.3-litre DDiS 200 Smart Hybrid Diesel Engine, producing 89 bhp @ 4000 rpm and 200 Nm @ 1750 rpm. This engine was known for its fuel efficiency, with an ARAI-reported mileage of 24 kmpl. I believe this engine was a highlight of the S-Cross, offering a good balance between power and fuel economy.
Wednesday, 05 August 2020 03:07 PM The S-Cross Diesel Sigma came with a range of features, including power-assisted steering, McPherson strut with coil spring suspension at the front, and torsion beam with coil spring at the rear. It also had steel rims and 215/60 R16 tyres. I think these features contributed to its comfortable ride and handling.
Wednesday, 05 August 2020 07:44 AM Maruti Suzuki had equipped the S-Cross Diesel Sigma with a range of safety features, although it lacked some advanced safety features found in higher variants. It still had essential safety elements like power-assisted steering and a robust build. I think the safety features were adequate for its segment.
Thursday, 28 September 2017 05:48 PM The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Diesel Sigma was priced at around Rs. 8.81 lakh at the time of its launch, making it an attractive option in the compact SUV segment. I think the pricing was competitive and helped it gain traction in the market.

Wednesday, 27 September 2017 03:04 AM Maruti Suzuki had offered the S-Cross in various variants, including the Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. The Sigma was the base model but still packed essential features like front fog lamps, halogen tail lights, and a single-tone black interior. I believe the Sigma offered great value for its price.

Wednesday, 27 September 2017 05:22 PM The S-Cross Diesel Sigma was available in five color options: Nexa Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Caffeine Brown, Premium Silver, and Granite Grey. I believe the color palette was quite appealing and added to the vehicles aesthetic appeal.
Friday, 20 May 2016 06:11 PM Maruti Suzuki had recalled 20,427 units of the S-Cross, including the Diesel Sigma variant, due to a suspected fault in the brake part. I am using S-Cross (1.3L Zeta) since last 10 days, the car has awesome interior. It has ample of leg space I must say it is more than Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano. Car has descent pick up and power. I am getting the mileage of around 18-19 kmpl in city. Car features (Navigation, Cruise Control) are awesome in this price range. Ground clearance is 180mm which is quite descent and good enough to tackle indian roads. I did not encounter any issue with ground clearance even on bad road conditions. Overall its a value for money

Best Features: Navigation and Cruise Control

Pros: Powerful engine and good leg space

Cons: Look should have been improved

Very Capable Touring Vehicle

The Maruti S-Cross is a very practical product which scores well on ride quality, interior space, equipment and diesel engine performance (1.6L). The main highlights of the interior is the navigation system and 7-inch touchscreen Maruti Smart Play entertainment, which needs some improvement. The front seats are very comfortable with the accurate amount of under thigh and lumbar support. It shows a nice balance in the handling and ride section. This new beauty performs well on bad roads, though the ride quality is quite impressive as compared to Renault Duster. It handles well and is very interesting to drive but the steering lacks some feel. It has a rectangular, well shaped boot which can accommodate 353 litres (810 litres when the rear seats are folded). Wide tyres (205mm) and disc brakes on all wheels increases confidence too. It offers perfect driving position with height adjustable seat and tilt steering.

Best Features: Ride Quality & Good Handling

Pros: Sport interiors, strong performance, finely tuned suspension, feature rich, ride quality, good handling

Cons: Build quality, design
