Saturday, 25 May 2024 12:54 PM Maruti Suzuki has discontinued the S-Cross in the Indian market, replacing it with the new Grand Vitara. The S-Cross was available in four trims: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha, and was priced between Rs 8.95 lakh and Rs 12.92 lakh. I think this move is a strategic shift towards more popular models in the SUV segment.
Friday, 27 September 2019 06:21 AM The 2019 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross came with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, offering both manual and automatic transmission options. It also featured a mild-hybrid technology, enhancing fuel efficiency. The car included features like a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and cruise control. I believe these updates made the S-Cross a more competitive option in its class.
Friday, 15 March 2019 03:42 PM The 2019 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross featured advanced technology such as rain-sensing wipers, LED projector headlights, and 16-inch alloy wheels. These features were part of the cars premium quotient and were aimed at attracting more buyers. I think these features made the S-Cross stand out in its segment.
Wednesday, 20 February 2019 03:25 PM Maruti Suzuki updated the S-Cross with more mature looks and better equipment, including a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine. However, the lackluster engine performance and the lethargic 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission contributed to low sales volumes. I believe this highlights the importance of engine performance in consumer decisions.
Tuesday, 11 September 2018 10:32 AM Maruti Suzuki silently introduced the updated S-Cross in 2018, adding more safety equipment across all variants. The updates included rear parking sensors, a speed alert system, and a passenger seatbelt reminder. Prices started at Rs. 8.85 lakh for the Sigma variant and went up to Rs. 11.45 lakh for the top-of-the-line Alpha. I think these safety additions were a welcome move.
Thursday, 28 September 2017 05:02 AM The 2017 S-Cross facelift was launched in India during the Diwali season, offering improved features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and several other creature comforts. The car was available in five color options and saw a major cosmetic makeover. This launch was anticipated to boost sales during the festive season. I believe the timing was perfect to capitalize on festive demand.
Wednesday, 27 September 2017 12:46 AM Maruti Suzuki updated the S-Cross in 2017 with significant cosmetic changes, including a new chrome-surrounded grille and other styling upgrades. The car also received additional safety features such as rear parking sensors, speed alert system, and a passenger seatbelt reminder. These changes were aimed at enhancing the cars premium appeal. I think the new look really elevated the S-Crosss market presence.
Monday, 22 May 2017 09:13 AM The 2017 S-Cross facelift was spotted testing in India, revealing comprehensive aesthetic upgrades and new features. The car was expected to launch during Diwali that year. The updates included a heavy chrome surround grille and other cosmetic changes to give it an upmarket look. I think the spy shots generated a lot of excitement among potential buyers.
Thursday, 06 April 2017 07:47 AM Maruti Suzukis Nexa dealerships saw a slump in demand for the S-Cross, leading to the discontinuation of the Delta and Zeta variants with the 1.6-litre engine. This decision was made despite the positive response to other Nexa models like the Ignis and Baleno. I believe this shows how competitive the SUV market is in India.
Monday, 30 January 2017 01:50 AM The S-Cross was initially launched with both 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engine variants, but later, Maruti discontinued the lower variants of the 1.6-litre engine due to low demand. The 1.6-litre engine was then available only in the top Alpha variant. This move was a response to the markets preference for other models. I believe this was a necessary adjustment to manage inventory and demand.

I am using S-Cross (1.3L Zeta) since last 10 days, the car has awesome interior. It has ample of leg space I must say it is more than Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano. Car has descent pick up and power. I am getting the mileage of around 18-19 kmpl in city. Car features (Navigation, Cruise Control) are awesome in this price range. Ground clearance is 180mm which is quite descent and good enough to tackle indian roads. I did not encounter any issue with ground clearance even on bad road conditions. Overall its a value for money

Best Features: Navigation and Cruise Control

Pros: Powerful engine and good leg space

Cons: Look should have been improved

Very Capable Touring Vehicle

The Maruti S-Cross is a very practical product which scores well on ride quality, interior space, equipment and diesel engine performance (1.6L). The main highlights of the interior is the navigation system and 7-inch touchscreen Maruti Smart Play entertainment, which needs some improvement. The front seats are very comfortable with the accurate amount of under thigh and lumbar support. It shows a nice balance in the handling and ride section. This new beauty performs well on bad roads, though the ride quality is quite impressive as compared to Renault Duster. It handles well and is very interesting to drive but the steering lacks some feel. It has a rectangular, well shaped boot which can accommodate 353 litres (810 litres when the rear seats are folded). Wide tyres (205mm) and disc brakes on all wheels increases confidence too. It offers perfect driving position with height adjustable seat and tilt steering.

Best Features: Ride Quality & Good Handling

Pros: Sport interiors, strong performance, finely tuned suspension, feature rich, ride quality, good handling

Cons: Build quality, design
