The Maruti Eeco is a multi-utility vehicle available in both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations, making it versatile for various needs. It is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 80.96 HP and 104.4 Nm of torque, coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission. The CNG variant of this engine produces 70.6 bhp and 95 Nm of torque. It also comes with basic features like an air conditioner with a heater, sun visors, and an advanced instrument cluster. USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Maruti Eeco, while a versatile and practical vehicle, does not come in a diesel variant. However, its petrol and CNG options make it a reliable choice for those seeking a budget-friendly people mover or cargo vehicle. The Eeco excels in its ability to provide ample space, easy access via sliding doors, and a fuel-efficient engine. However, it lacks some basic features such as power steering and power windows, which can be a drawback for some users. The ride quality, though firm, handles Indian roads well, especially when loaded. Overall, it is a value-for-money option, particularly for commercial or family use, but it could benefit from some modern amenities to enhance the driving experience.
Price
The Maruti Eeco is priced competitively in the Indian market, starting at Rs. 5.32 lakh for the base 5-seater petrol variant and going up to Rs. 6.58 lakh for the 5-seater AC CNG variant (ex-showroom Delhi). On-road prices vary depending on the state and local taxes but generally range from Rs. 6.2 lakh to Rs. 7.8 lakh. Given its pricing, the Eeco offers a compelling package for those looking for a spacious and economical vehicle. However, the lack of discounts and recent price hikes might affect its overall value proposition. Despite this, it remains a popular choice due to its affordability and practicality.
Latest Updates
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 10:07 PM There has been no official confirmation from Maruti Suzuki regarding the launch of a diesel variant of the Eeco. The current lineup includes petrol and CNG options, but diesel enthusiasts are still waiting for any news on this front. I think the absence of a diesel option might be due to the increasing focus on cleaner fuels like CNG and petrol.
Tuesday, 15 October 2024 10:21 AM Despite the lack of a diesel Eeco, there is still a significant market demand for diesel vehicles in India, especially in the commercial segment. However, Maruti Suzuki has not made any public statements about plans to introduce a diesel engine for the Eeco. I believe this could be a missed opportunity, given the fuel efficiency and power that diesel engines offer.
Friday, 20 September 2024 12:23 PM Maruti Suzuki has been focusing on upgrading its fleet to comply with BS6 Phase 2 norms, with a strong emphasis on petrol and CNG engines. The Eeco, in its current form, is available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a CNG variant, but there is no indication of a diesel option in the near future. I think this strategy aligns with the companys push towards cleaner and more efficient fuel options.
Sunday, 25 August 2024 10:24 AM While the Eeco does not have a diesel engine, its current petrol and CNG engines offer decent performance and fuel efficiency. For instance, the CNG variant of the Eeco provides 72 PS and 95 Nm of torque, which is quite efficient for its segment. I believe this shows Marutis commitment to optimizing existing engine options rather than introducing new ones.
Wednesday, 31 July 2024 12:38 AM Consumer preferences in India are shifting towards more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles. Given this trend, it seems unlikely that Maruti Suzuki would introduce a diesel variant of the Eeco anytime soon. I think this shift is positive for the environment but might disappoint those who prefer the performance of diesel engines.
Sunday, 16 June 2024 01:13 AM Maruti Suzuki has not made any recent statements about the possibility of a diesel Eeco. The company has been silent on this matter, focusing instead on promoting its existing petrol and CNG models. I believe this silence suggests that there are no immediate plans for a diesel variant.
Tuesday, 21 May 2024 12:37 AM There has been some market speculation about Maruti Suzuki potentially exploring diesel options for future models, but nothing specific has been mentioned about the Eeco. This speculation often arises from consumer demand, but without official confirmation, it remains just that – speculation. I think its interesting to see how consumer demand can influence automotive trends.
Thursday, 11 April 2024 12:50 AM Maruti Suzuki has been upgrading its engines to meet the latest emission norms, but these upgrades have been focused on petrol and CNG engines. There has been no technological upgrade or announcement related to a diesel engine for the Eeco. I believe this focus on existing technologies is a strategic move to maintain market relevance.
Monday, 25 March 2024 08:07 PM The Eeco, even without a diesel option, remains a popular choice due to its versatile design and features such as sliding doors and a spacious interior. However, the lack of a diesel engine might be a drawback for some potential buyers. I think the design and features of the Eeco are well-suited for its target market, even if it doesnt include a diesel variant.
Tuesday, 20 February 2024 06:20 PM The Maruti Eeco has seen consistent sales despite not having a diesel variant. This suggests that the current engine options are meeting the needs of most buyers. I believe this sales performance indicates that the market is adapting well to the available options.
Mileage
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 07:19 PM The Maruti Eeco offers impressive mileage figures, with the petrol variant delivering an ARAI-certified 19.71 kmpl and the CNG variant achieving 26.78 kmkg. In real-world conditions, users have reported mileage ranging from 18 to 20 kmpl for petrol and around 22 kmkg for CNG. These figures make the Eeco an attractive option for those concerned about running costs, especially for frequent or long-distance use.

It's a big car at small amount. I bought my Maruti Omni in 2013 as I need a car that accommodate my whole family of 8 members(6 adults and 2 children). Though there are SUV's in the market for that purpose but my budget didn't allow me to buy one. Now, I am happy that my whole family fits happily in my Omni. In the terms of look though, it is simple but its a good deal in many other way. It comes with normal steering wheel but believe me it is too light to use. It provide good ride on the rough roads but on high speeds it loose balance sometimes. It has a good ground clearance and I am in love with such vehicles because it provides good ride quality. It returns me mileage of 13kmpl on city roads and 11kmpl on rough roads. On the other hand, safety is a question and gear shift quality requires improvement.

Best Features: Affordable Price

Pros: Price, Tall Seating position, Cabin,

Cons: No Power steering, Lack of rear AC vents.
