USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Mahindra XUV500 4x2 W6 (Automatic) (Diesel) is a robust and feature-rich SUV that has left a lasting impression in the Indian market, despite being discontinued. My experience with this vehicle has been positive, particularly in terms of its engine performance and comfort features. The 2.2-liter mHawk140 diesel engine, producing 140 bhp and 330 Nm of torque, makes it a powerful and reliable choice for both urban and off-road driving. The automatic transmission adds to the convenience, making it an effortless highway cruiser. However, some owners have reported mixed experiences with servicing costs and reliability, which is something to consider. Overall, its a solid choice for those seeking a blend of power, comfort, and value.
Price
The Mahindra XUV500 4x2 W6 (Automatic) (Diesel) was priced at around INR 14.87 lakh ex-showroom before it was discontinued. When considering the on-road price, you would need to factor in additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, which could push the total cost to around INR 17-18 lakh, depending on the state and local regulations. Given its features, performance, and the segment it belongs to, the pricing was competitive, offering good value for money. However, since the model is no longer in production, buyers may need to explore the used car market or consider newer alternatives.
Latest Updates
Saturday, 21 September 2024 11:04 AM The Mahindra XUV500 is set to make a comeback, and this time it might be offered as a front-wheel-drive SUV. The new model is expected to come with a 1.5L turbo diesel and a 1.2L direct injection turbo petrol engine. This shift could make the vehicle more appealing to urban buyers. I believe this move could help Mahindra tap into a broader market segment.
Sunday, 01 September 2024 10:31 AM Mahindra has discontinued the previous versions of the XUV500, but the legacy of this SUV remains strong. The earlier XUV500 W6 model featured a 2.2L mHawk diesel engine, producing 138 bhp and 330 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. It also had a generous 70-liter fuel tank and an impressive ground clearance of 200mm. I think the discontinuation has left a gap in the market that the new version might fill.
Friday, 16 August 2024 12:18 AM The XUV500 was known for its robust performance and fuel efficiency. The manual transmission version of the XUV500 had a fuel consumption rate of 6.5 liters per 100km, while the automatic version consumed 7.4 liters per 100km. This fuel-frugal nature made it a favorite among both family and fleet owners. I believe the new version will need to match or exceed these efficiency standards to retain customer loyalty.
Saturday, 20 July 2024 01:36 PM The previous XUV500 models came with several advanced features, including automatic climate control, rear AC vents, and a Mahindra Blue Sense App that allowed users to control various car functions remotely. The cabin was also equipped with plush tan leather upholstery and an electric sunroof, making it feel airy and spacious. I think these features will be crucial in the new model to maintain its premium feel.
Thursday, 16 May 2024 09:58 AM Mahindra introduced a 6-speed automatic transmission option for the XUV500 in 2015, which was a significant upgrade at the time. This automatic transmission was available in the W8 model variant and enhanced the driving experience, especially in urban conditions. I believe the inclusion of an automatic transmission in the new model will be a welcome feature for many buyers.
Mileage
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 11:07 AM The Mahindra XUV500 4x2 W6 (Automatic) (Diesel) offers a certified ARAI mileage of 15.1 kmpl, which is respectable for an SUV of its size and power. In real-world conditions, owners have reported mileage ranging from 10-12 kmpl in city driving and up to 17.5 kmpl on highways, especially when driven with air conditioning. This makes it a relatively fuel-efficient option, considering its performance and capabilities, which can help in managing running costs.

XUV500 is not a good choice....build quality is poor... ..I drive my XUV500 with just below 90kmph...but not getting a mileage above 9.2kmpl on highway...till today I have done 11500km...mahindra service adviser say it gives mileage after 10000km....other adviser says after 20000km...another say 30000km......I have driven many vehicles but none of them takes so many kilometers to gives mileage....never gets satisfactory service from indraprastha automobiles of Mahindra....body comforts is very poor...body rolls in every direction in just little off road...please friends do not go with mahindra...make a budget go for Innova....or Duster...but not XUV

Best Features: Masculine heavy looks

Pros: Design ...body Masculine looks....

Cons: Build quality poor...hardly get mileage of 9 kmpl on highway after driving with descent speed of 80kmph to 95kph....
