For the 2022 model year, Dodge eliminated the six-speed manual transmission from the 717-horsepower Challenger SRT Hellcat. For lower Hemi Challenger models, the Tremec TR-6060 gearbox was still available; the six-speed was never available for upper Redeye trims. The carmaker clarified the situation at the end of 2021 and promised that the trim would reappear in the future, explaining that it was necessary to recalibrate the Powertrain Control Module for the stick-shift supercharged 6.2-liter V8.

The 2024 Dodge Challenger will mark the end of an era as Dodge announced it will be the last year for the iconic muscle car. This final iteration is expected to feature revised exterior styling, including a refreshed front fascia, new wheel designs, and updated rear taillights. Fans can also look forward to the continued availability of powerful Hemi V8 engines. There is speculation that the 2024 Dodge Challenger might adopt a new 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine, known as the Hurricane engine, which could replace some of the V8 options. This engine is expected to deliver improved fuel economy and emissions while maintaining strong performance. I believe this could be a smart move by Dodge to address environmental concerns without sacrificing performance.
