At first I was skeptical, but the 1.5 TSI does a decent job. It's no rocket, but it'll get you about town and on the highway with ease.

If you're not in a rush it's fine but it won't last long fully loaded or on steep inclines. I hope they would have kept the 2.0 as an option.

It’s a marvel of engineering. You can get so much power out of 1.5 liters these days. Even on long trips, it’s never felt lacking.

It's a compromise. You’ll get better fuel economy, but you’ll pay for it in performance. It’s underwhelming if you’re used to more powerful cars.

I believe it’s fine for most people’s purposes. It’s not going to win any drag races, sure, but how often do you actually need to push your family SUV to the limit?

The turbo helps, but there is no substitute for displacement. I test drove the 1.5 and 2.0 versions, and there is a difference. Went with the 2.0 in the end.

It's all about expectations. It is great if you are looking for a fuel efficient family hauler. If you like something sporty or need to tow, look elsewhere.

I find it pretty intuitive. Most functions are easy to access and the screen is responsive. In my case the integration with Android Auto works flawlessly.
How user friendly is the Kodiaq's infotainment system?

It's a bit of a mixed bag. A few features are great, but others are buried in menus. I hate using touch controls for that and it’s annoying not having a physical volume knob.

I was impressed coming from an older car. I’ve been using it for a bit now and there is some lag and occasional glitches. It’s nothing major, but it can be frustrating.

In fact, I like it better than my wife's BMW system. It's simpler and cleaner. The virtual cockpit is a game changer for navigation, plus.

It's not bad, but it's not class leading. Hit or miss voice commands and I wish the screen was angled towards the driver more. The overall result is that it gets the job done.

As a tech geek, I love it. Many customizable features. I can see how it could be overwhelming for those less tech savvy.

The software is a bit dated and the hardware is fine. I can only hope that Skoda has a policy of running updates to the add new features and fix bugs.

The wireless charging pad has given me trouble: it’s very finicky on how it likes the phone to be placed. Apart from that, no big complaints. For my purposes, it's user friendly enough.
Does the third row of the Skoda Kodiaq really offer usable space?

Definitely tight back there, but works for kids or short adults on short trips. But I wouldn't want to be trapped there for a long trip.

I regularly use the third row for my kids' friends and it has been great. It folds up and down easy and the kids don't complain about space.

I really think that's more of an emergency option. In the two years that I have had the Kodiaq, I’ve only used it a handful of times. It's nice to have, but I wouldn't buy it for the third row.
Does the third row of the Skoda Kodiaq really offer usable space?

I'm 6'2' so, technically, I can fit back there but it's not comfortable. It's OK for kids or smaller adults, but I wouldn't put anyone through it for more than a short trip.

I think it depends on what you expect. It’s cramped, compared to a proper MPV, yeah. For an SUV of this size, it’s not bad. Just don't expect miracles.
