Should I consider a test drive before purchasing the Force Gurkha?
17 April 2025 17:45

Considering a test drive before purchasing the Force Gurkha is highly recommended. This vehicle, while exceptional in its off-road capabilities and offering a unique, rugged design, has several aspects that may not align with daily driving needs. For instance, the driving position and gearbox placement can be uncomfortable, especially for those of average height, and engaging the 4H and 4L modes requires significant physical effort. Additionally, the Gurkha's utilitarian interior, lack of modern amenities like steering-mounted controls, and the necessity for frequent service intervals are important factors to consider. The updated 2024 model improves on performance and comfort, but it still retains a raw and unfinished feel compared to other modern SUVs. A test drive will help you assess the vehicle's ride quality, which is noted to be comfortable despite some rattles over bad roads, and the improved power output from the 2.6-litre diesel engine. It will also give you a firsthand experience of the vehicle's handling, particularly in city driving and off-road conditions, to determine if it meets your specific needs and preferences[5>.
