How does the Force Traveller 26 perform in hilly places?
Used often to transport tourists in mountainous regions of India, the Force Traveller 26 is a rather controversial vehicle in terms of its performance in such conditions. Its strong build and dependability are praised by some drivers, who also say it climbs steep inclines when not overloaded. Yet others gripe about poor power on long uphills, especially when fully loaded with passengers, or cargo. There is also talk of the vehicle's high center of gravity, which makes the vehicle feel unstable on winding mountain roads. Braking performance on descents is also in question. Questions are raised as to how it stacks up to newer competitors in the ability to climb hills, and its mountain driving safety features. Some users have modified it to run better in hilly terrain.
The Traveller 26 is a beast on those mountain roads and I’ve driven them in Himachal. It’s not the fastest, but it’s stable and the low gearing really helps on steep climbs. As long as you don’t overload it, you’ll be fine.
