Can the Force Traveller 26 be converted into a mobile clinic or medical van?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views5 comments
Force Traveller 26 has been an idea that has been gaining currency for use as a base for mobile medical units in rural healthcare initiatives. Its interior is spacious and its build robust, which seems promising for such conversions. But it is not clear if it is suitable for use instead of purpose built medical vans. Wet suspension and noise issues that might be an issue for sensitive medical equipment or patient comfort of the Traveller's basic. However, its simplicity could make it a benefit for maintenance in remote areas. Fuel efficiency and performance on rough rural roads are also discussed. One argument is that newer and more refined vehicles would be more suited to medical use, while another is that the Traveller is cheap and easily customizable. Converted Travellers are questioned for meeting medical standards and regulations compared to a specialized medical vehicle.

The biggest advantage of the Traveller for medical conversions is cost. For the price of one purpose built medical van you can outfit several Travellers. That means getting more basic healthcare to more people in resource strapped areas.

I have seen some Traveller conversions that were really impressive for medical use. It can be a great mobile clinic with the right modifications - good insulation, custom interiors, and upgraded suspension. It’s the smart design and quality components.

It depends on specific needs and budget. A converted Traveller would work well for basic check ups and vaccinations in remote villages. And you probably want something more specialized for more advanced medical services.

Using a Traveller for medical purposes is a bad idea, no way. Sensitive equipment won’t work in it because it’s too rough and noisy. And patient comfort should be a consideration. There are far better options made for medical use.

The Traveller 26, I think, is ideal for a mobile clinic in rural areas. It’s great, it’s big, and if something breaks, it’s easy to fix. It’s not as smooth as a fancy ambulance, but it can get places those can’t.
