Datsun redi-GO Petrol T (O) (800cc) Updates

Datsun has announced the cessation of redi-GO production at its Chennai plant, marking the end of the models production in India. The Datsun redi-GO Petrol T (O) 800cc, which was one of the variants, is now discontinued. I think this move might be a strategic decision to focus on other models or upcoming launches.

The Datsun redi-GO Petrol T (O) 800cc was known for its spacious interiors and excellent mileage, offering 20.7 kmpl as per ARAI certification. This made it a popular choice among young buyers looking for a fuel-efficient vehicle. I believe the interior space was one of its strongest selling points.

The Datsun redi-GO Petrol T (O) 800cc came with a 799cc, 3-cylinder DOHC engine producing 54 HP @ 5600 rpm and 72 Nm @ 4250 rpm. This engine was shared with the Renault Kwid and was optimized for fuel efficiency rather than performance. It was a reliable choice for daily commuting.

The vehicle featured several key amenities, including air conditioning, keyless entry, central locking, and Bluetooth connectivity. These features made it a competitive option in the entry-level hatchback segment. I think these features added significant value to the car.

The Datsun redi-GO Petrol T (O) 800cc had a ground clearance of 187 mm, which was higher than many of its rivals, making it more capable of handling rough roads. This was a significant advantage in Indian road conditions.

The car was available in several color options, including Bronze Grey, Crystal Silver, Ruby Red, Opal White, Vivid Blue, and Sandstone Brown. This variety helped potential buyers find a color that suited their taste. I believe the color options were quite appealing.

The Datsun redi-GO Petrol T (O) 800cc was priced competitively, with the T (O) variant starting at around Rs. 4.26 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This pricing made it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers.

The vehicle had a top speed of 140 kmph and could accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 15.9 seconds. While not designed for performance, it was adequate for city driving and short highway trips. I think it was well-suited for its intended use.

The Datsun redi-GO Petrol T (O) 800cc had a boot space of 222 liters, which, although less than some competitors, was still sufficient for daily needs. The back seat offered ample knee and head space, though shoulder room was a bit limited.

The car featured a 5-speed manual transmission and had low NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) levels compared to some of its competitors, such as the Maruti Alto. This made for a relatively comfortable driving experience.
