This addition joined the all-wheel drive models, the X6 xDrive35i and the X6 xDrive50i, which featured a 445 horsepower TwinPower Turbo 4.4-liter V8. All models came with BMW’s 8-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission.

I think this was a smart move to keep production costs in check while maintaining quality.
