Expert opinion and recommendation
The Audi RS7 Sportback in India is a high-performance luxury vehicle that combines aggressive styling, blistering speed, and practicality in a unique package. Its powerful 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, producing close to 591 bhp, delivers exhilarating acceleration and refined power delivery, suitable for both city cruising and highway blasts. The quattro all-wheel-drive system ensures superb handling and traction, even in challenging conditions. Inside, the RS7 offers an opulent cabin with cutting-edge tech and premium materials, creating a comfortable yet sporty ambiance. The five-door coupe design balances sporty aesthetics with usable rear seats and cargo space, making it more practical than many other performance cars. However, the steep price and relatively modest mileage figures highlight that this car caters to enthusiasts who prioritize performance and luxury over fuel economy. Overall, the RS7 Sportback stands as a striking choice for those seeking a performance sedan with everyday usability and a strong road presence in India.
The Audi RS7 Sportback delivers an exceptional blend of high-performance power and everyday usability, making it a top-tier luxury performance car in India. Its muscular 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine produces ferocious power, complemented by quattro all-wheel drive for confidence-inspiring handling. The coupe-like silhouette and progressive design language make the RS7 stand out, while the richly appointed interior blends technology with premium comfort. It is a car that appeals to driving enthusiasts who want sporting prowess without compromising on space or refinement. However, its aggressive price and relatively low fuel efficiency need consideration, especially given India’s high ownership costs. The RS7’s ride quality, dynamic capabilities, and build quality place it in direct competition with rivals like the BMW M5 and Mercedes-AMG E63 S, but it carves its niche with a distinct combination of style and tech. Overall, the RS7 is a dream machine for someone valuing high-speed thrills supported by cutting-edge features and impeccable craftsmanship, provided they accept the premium cost of ownership that comes with such exclusivity.

Pricing details and changes
In India, the Audi RS7 Sportback is priced around Rs. 1.94 crore ex-showroom, with on-road prices likely crossing Rs. 2.1 crore depending on the city due to high registration taxes and insurance costs. The vehicle is imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), which adds to its premium pricing compared to locally assembled models. This places the RS7 in direct competition with the BMW M5 and Mercedes-AMG E63 S, both of which offer similar high-performance credentials. Despite the hefty price tag, buyers get an exclusivity factor and engineering excellence that justifies the expense if you value cutting-edge technology, design, and sheer performance. For prospective owners, the cost of ownership given India’s luxury car taxes means it remains a niche purchase primarily for well-heeled enthusiasts rather than everyday buyers looking for value.
The Audi RS7 Sportback is priced at approximately Rs. 1.94 crore ex-showroom India, with on-road prices in major metros like Delhi and Mumbai crossing Rs. 2.2 crore after adding registration, insurance, and taxes. This places the RS7 in the ultra-luxury high-performance segment, competing with rivals such as the BMW M5 and Mercedes-AMG E63 S. While this price tag is steep, it includes a high level of standard equipment, advanced driver assistance systems, and the prestigious Audi badge. The RS7 is available as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), which influences the pricing due to import duties and taxes in India. For buyers in India looking for outright performance paired with exclusivity, the pricing is justified but clearly limits the vehicle to a niche clientele. The ownership costs, including maintenance and fuel, are substantially above average, which should be factored into the buying decision beyond the sticker price.
Fuel efficiency information
The Audi RS7’s mileage in India is approximately 8-9 km/l under typical driving conditions, which is low compared to regular sedans but expected for a high-output 4.0L V8 petrol engine. For buyers worried about running costs, it’s important to factor in premium fuel consumption and maintenance expenses. This car is best suited for enthusiasts who prioritize performance and driving experience over fuel efficiency.
The Audi RS7 Sportback’s fuel efficiency in India stands at around 10.2 kmpl according to company claims, which is modest but expected for a high-performance 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine in an almost 2-ton luxury coupe. Given this, mileage should not be the primary consideration if you prioritize performance and luxury. However, from a running cost perspective, fuel expenses will be significantly higher compared to regular sedans or SUVs, so buyers conscious about operating costs should weigh this carefully.
