The Austrian bike maker KTM is working on its upcoming bike RC 790. KTM RC 790 will be a fully-faired sportbike that will be based on Duke 790. The KTM RC 790 will be powered by a 799 CC parallel twin-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine that will produce 104.6 PS at 9000 rpm and 87 Nm of torque at 8000 rpm. The engine of the bike is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and it will have a slipper clutch and assist as well along with other safety tech.

KTM India is expected to launch new big bikes in the financial year 2025, which could include updates or new variants of the 790 Duke. This move is part of KTMs strategy to expand its presence in the Indian market with more high-performance motorcycles. I think this is a great move, as it will give Indian riders more options in the middleweight segment.

The KTM 790 Duke, launched in India in September 2019, is priced at Rs. 8.63 lakh (ex-showroom) and is the largest displacement offering from KTM in the country. It features a 799cc parallel twin engine producing 105hp and comes with advanced features like cornering ABS and a wheelie control system. I believe this bike has set a new standard for performance and safety in its class.

KTM dealerships in India started accepting bookings for the 790 Duke in December 2018 with a token amount of Rs. 30,000. The bike was highly anticipated as it marked KTMs entry into the high-performance motorcycle segment in India. I think the pre-booking response was a clear indication of the excitement around this model.
