Benelli TRK 251 Updates

Benelli has announced the launch of the TRK 251 in India, scheduled for December 16. The bike is expected to be priced around Rs 2.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with the likes of Royal Enfield. This launch is significant as it marks Benellis entry into the adventure bike segment in India. I think this could be a great option for those looking for an affordable adventure bike.

The Benelli TRK 251 has undergone another price hike, with the current ex-showroom price standing at Rs 2.89 lakh. Despite the price increase, the bike remains a popular choice due to its features like dual-channel ABS, USD front forks, and a comfortable riding position. I believe the price hike might affect its competitiveness slightly, but it still offers good value.

Benelli India has commenced pre-bookings for the TRK 251, with the bike available in three color options: Glossy White, Glossy Black, and Glossy Grey. This move indicates a strong market anticipation for the adventure bike. I think the color options will appeal to a wide range of buyers.

The Benelli TRK 251 boasts a 249cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, producing 25.4 HP at 9250 rpm and 21.1 Nm of torque at 8000 rpm. It also features a 6-speed gearbox and dual-channel ABS, making it a robust option for both on-road and off-road adventures. The bikes top speed is approximately 148 kmph.

In terms of design, the Benelli TRK 251 comes with an adjustable windscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and tubeless tires. These features enhance the bikes practicality and comfort, especially for long rides. The seat height of 800 mm might be a challenge for shorter riders, though.

The Benelli TRK 251 has a fuel tank capacity of 18 liters and offers an approximate mileage of 30-35 kmpl, making it a fuel-efficient option for daily rides and weekend adventures. Its ground clearance of 170 mm is also noteworthy for navigating rough terrain.

Benelli has highlighted the TRK 251s comfort features, including its ergonomic design and comfortable riding position. This makes the bike suitable for both new riders and those who use it for daily commuting. I think this focus on comfort will attract a lot of buyers.

The Benelli TRK 251 is BS6-compliant, ensuring it meets the latest emission norms in India. The bike also features a wet multi-plate clutch and a chain final drive, contributing to its overall performance and reliability.

In the market, the Benelli TRK 251 is positioned as an affordable adventure bike, undercutting competitors like the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 and the Honda CRF250L. However, it trades off some power and off-road prowess for its lower price. I believe this positioning will help it gain traction in the Indian market.

Benelli has emphasized the TRK 251s feature-rich profile, including LED taillight, 12V DC socket, and side stand sensor. These features add to the bikes appeal and practicality, making it a well-rounded option for adventure seekers.
