Mahindra & Mahindra Limited has been a major manufacturer of reliable and robust vehicles in Indian market since its origin in 1945. It was founded in Ludhiana by K.C. Mahindra, J.C. Mahindra and Malik Ghulam Mohammed as Mahindra & Mohammed. It is a multinational company which has its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It has made its presence felt to the whole world with its flagship UV Scorpio which bagged numerous awards and took the company to a new height. Mahindra Scorpio was first launched in June 2002 in Indian market through their production facility in Nasik and gained immense popularity immediately because of its great looks, high performing engine and spacious interiors. Mahindra Scorpio M-hawk VLX was a top variant of Scorpio during its early years which is now discontinued due to the addition of a new and better engine.
Mahindra Scorpio M-hawk VLX had a stylish exterior with a bright headlamp cluster, its signature front bold slotted grille, an aggressive bonnet scoop with a low drag intake, body colored front bumper with round fog lamps at both ends and a large air dam in between, 16-inch alloy wheels, body colored ORVMs and door handles, impact absorbing bold side cladding, comfortable side steps, rear roof edge with an illuminating spoiler, rear windscreen with a wiper and defogger and a vertical tail lamp cluster. It had a length of 4495mm, a width of 1817mm and a height of 1975mm as its dimensions and a good large wheelbase. It had a kerb weight of 2510kgs and a fuel tank capacity of 60liters along with a minimum turning radius of 5.6m for easy cruising through the city traffic, in tight parking slots and in any off-road experience.
Mahindra Scorpio M-hawk VLX has plush interiors and exciting features to catch anyone's attention which includes an illuminated instrument console, an adjustable power steering with audio controls, gear shift lever, a powerful AC with heater and vents, power windows, remote fuel filler and boot lid opener, front and rear armrests with cup holders and other storage spaces, adjustable seats, tinted glass, folding rear seats and many other features. There is also a quality 2-DIN music system with CD, MP3 and speakers.
Mahindra Scorpio M-hawk VLX had a 2600cc, 2.6L, 4-cylinders, 16-valves, Turbocharged, CRDi mHawk diesel engine with a maximum power of 115bhp at 3800rpm and a maximum torque of 283Nm at 1700rpm and has a five speed manual gearbox transmission. It provided this formidable UV with a top speed of almost 150kmph and reaches 0-100kmph mark in less than 17 seconds approximately with a mileage of 10kmpl in the cities and 13kmpl on the highways.
Mahindra Scorpio M-hawk VLX had disk brakes at front and drum brakes at rear. It also had a great suspension system and its safety features includes rear parking sensors, fog lamps, seat belts, power windows, rear defogger, tinted glass among many others.
