Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda Jazz Diesel is a highly practical and reliable vehicle that has stood the test of time. Despite being an older model, it still offers a refined driving experience, albeit with some drawbacks. The 1.5-litre diesel engine, though not the smoothest, is incredibly tractable and punchy, providing excellent torque and fuel efficiency. The car excels in its long-distance capabilities, with a spacious interior, a large boot, and comfortable seating for three adults in the rear. However, the diesel engines noise and occasional squeaks are notable downsides. Overall, it is a solid choice for those prioritizing practicality, efficiency, and comfort.
Price
In India, the Honda Jazz Diesels pricing varies based on the trim level and location. As of recent data, the ex-showroom price for the top-spec VX Diesel variant can range from around 9.5 lakhs to 10.5 lakhs, depending on the city. On-road prices, including taxes and other costs, can go up to 11.5 lakhs to 12.5 lakhs. While it may seem on the higher side compared to some competitors, the Jazzs reliability, spaciousness, and fuel efficiency make it a worthwhile investment for many buyers.

The Honda Jazz Diesel E is not available in the market, as Honda has shifted its focus to hybrid technology for the Jazz model. The current Honda Jazz comes with a 1.5-liter petrol engine and a lithium-ion battery, offering a self-charging full hybrid powertrain. This move aligns with Hondas strategy to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. I think this is a smart move, given the increasing emphasis on environmentally friendly vehicles.

Honda has recently refreshed the Jazz hybrid range, introducing new design elements and technological upgrades. However, there is no mention of a diesel variant, indicating that the company is committed to its hybrid and electric vehicle strategy. The new Jazz features a more defined grille design, new bumpers, and advanced safety features like Honda SENSING. I believe this refresh will appeal to those looking for a practical and efficient car.

The absence of a diesel engine in the Honda Jazz lineup is notable, especially in markets like India where diesel engines are popular. Instead, Honda is promoting its e:HEV hybrid system, which combines a 1.5-liter petrol engine with an electric motor for improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions. This shift reflects Hondas global strategy to reduce its carbon footprint. I think this is a positive step, but it may not resonate with all Indian consumers who prefer diesel options.

Hondas decision to skip the diesel variant for the Jazz in India is part of its broader strategy to focus on hybrid and electric vehicles. The company has emphasized the benefits of its e:HEV system, including better fuel economy and reduced emissions. While this might appeal to environmentally conscious buyers, it could be a missed opportunity in a market where diesel cars are still in demand. I believe Honda needs to carefully consider market preferences in India.
Sunday, 20 March 2022 11:15 AM
There has been no official announcement from Honda about the launch of a diesel-powered Jazz in India. The current models available are all hybrid variants, which have seen significant updates in terms of design, technology, and safety features. The lack of a diesel option might affect the cars appeal in certain segments of the Indian market. I think Honda should consider the diverse preferences of Indian buyers.
Monday, 10 January 2022 09:57 PM
Hondas focus on hybrid technology for the Jazz has led to significant improvements in fuel efficiency and emissions. However, this means that a diesel-powered version of the Jazz is unlikely to be introduced in the near future. The hybrid models offer features like regenerative braking and automatic selection of drive modes, which enhance the driving experience. I believe this is a step in the right direction for reducing environmental impact.
Friday, 15 October 2021 05:40 AM
The Honda Jazz in India is now available only with a hybrid powertrain, eliminating the possibility of a diesel variant. This move is part of Hondas global initiative to reduce carbon emissions and promote more sustainable driving options. The hybrid Jazz offers a unique blend of performance and efficiency, but it may not cater to the needs of all Indian consumers. I think this is a bold move by Honda, but it needs to be supported by strong marketing and consumer education.
Tuesday, 20 July 2021 10:25 AM
Honda has been silent on the possibility of a diesel-powered Jazz in India, instead highlighting the benefits of its hybrid technology. The e:HEV system in the Jazz provides excellent fuel economy and reduced emissions, making it an attractive option for those looking for an environmentally friendly car. However, the absence of a diesel option could impact sales in certain market segments. I believe Honda needs to balance its global strategy with local market demands.
Sunday, 11 April 2021 12:40 AM
The Honda Jazz in its current form does not offer a diesel engine option in India. The car is available with a 1.5-liter petrol engine combined with a lithium-ion battery, providing a self-charging hybrid system. This setup is designed to offer better fuel efficiency and lower emissions, aligning with Hondas commitment to sustainability. I think this is a positive move, but it may require some adjustment from consumers who are accustomed to diesel vehicles.
Friday, 15 January 2021 11:30 PM
Hondas decision to not offer a diesel variant of the Jazz in India reflects the companys broader strategy to transition towards more sustainable and efficient powertrains. The hybrid Jazz offers a compelling package of performance, efficiency, and reduced emissions, but it may not appeal to all potential buyers in the Indian market. I believe this shift is necessary for the future of automotive technology, but it requires careful market analysis and consumer feedback.
Mileage
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 03:41 PM
The Honda Jazz Diesel is known for its impressive fuel efficiency. With an average mileage of 18-20 kml in mixed driving conditions, it is a cost-effective choice for daily commuting and long road trips. On highways, the mileage can reach up to 22 kml, and under ideal conditions on four or six-lane highways, it can even touch 25 kml. This makes it an attractive option for those concerned about running costs and mileage.

Why Don't Honda understand, India requires high ground clearance - which is missing in all models, once fully loaded you will enjoy the music, despite of excellent tech/Quality.
