After the huge success of Apache RTR 160 & Apache RTR 180, TVS India is all set to launch the Apache RTR 220 to compete with the likes of Yamaha R15, Hero Honda Karizma ZMR & Bajaj Pulsar 220. Though it is just a speculation and no official announcement has been made about the launch of Apache RTR 220, it is expected to be launched in August/September 2010. There are also some rumours and news floating accross net that TVS may launch Apache RTR 250 with a single cylinder 250cc engine. Only time will tell that TVS will launch Apache RTR 220 or Apache RTR 250. With the launch of Apache RTR 220, Apache will be available in 3 variants:
- Apache RTR 160
- Apache RTR 180
- Apache RTR 220
Design & Styling of TVS Apache RTR 220
Though no official or spy pictures of Apache RTR 220 are available but it is expected that Apache RTR 220 might be the first TVS to come with full fairing like we have seen in the Yamaha R15 and Karizma ZMR. It might also feature ABS, which will be a first in this segment, setting a new safety standard for performance bikes.

Internal sources reveal the Apache RTR 220 to be more powerful with the bigger 220cc engine which is expected to generate maximum power of 22 Bhp with maximum torque of around 20 Nm.
Expected Price of TVS Apache RTR 220
Apache RTR 220 is expected to priced close to Rs. 90,000 to 95,000.
Expected Shades of TVS Apache RTR 220
It is expected that Apache RTR 220 will be available in four shades:
- White
- Black
- Yellow
- Grey
Statement Given by TVS Company President
“If the market demands, we will look into the high-powered bike segment of above 200 cc category. This 200cc+ TVS bike could be either a sports bike or a bike with racing DNA(Apache RTR). At this point of time TVS has not made any firm decision on this aspect,” TVS Motor Company President (Marketing) H S Goindi said.
