Yamaha has finally launched the much-awaited Fazer 25 in India for INR 1,29,335 (ex-showroom Delhi). Fazer 25 received heavy criticism in last few days as the first batch of leaked images portrayed the same as a motorcycle with scooter’s body on its top. Front of Fazer 25 carries the same headlight as FZ25, resulting in a small overall fascia that gets excessively covered with fairing from both the sides.
In fact, the faux air inlets look too much for a bike of this class, infusing a feel of looking at Ray ZR within Fazer 25. The typical Yamaha windshield is even missing from this motorcycle as they have used a rather short windshield and relatively bigger front fairing for this machine. Fazer actually has wider but lower placed fairing in its 150cc variant, carrying a much bigger windshield and twin headlight overall design.
Yamaha has used their newly launched 249cc engine from FZ25 on new Fazer, producing the same 20.69 BHP of maximum power and 20 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Disappointingly, Yamaha has not equipped the Fazer 25 with ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) contrary to the expectations. Fazer 25 is equipped with all-digital instrument console similar to the FZ25. The company claimed mileage of Fazer 25 is 40 kmpl.
Yamaha Fazer 25 is available in 2 shades namely Soulful Cyan (Grey and Blue) and Rhythmic Red (Red and Gold). The key rivals of Yamaha Fazer 25 in this price segment are Yamaha R15 V2, Bajaj Pulsar RS200, KTM Duke 200, Bajaj Dominar 400, Honda CBR250R (Coming Soon), and Royal Enfield Classic 350. Out of all these bikes, only Bajaj is offering ABS as an option on the Pulsar RS200 and Dominar 400.
