2018 Volkswagen Passat was recently launched in India from INR 29.99 lakh. The car is currently in its eighth generation and comes in two different variants for India. The smaller price tag is for Passat Comfortline while the more expensive Passat Highline trim costs INR 32.99 lakh.
Volkswagen is using the new MQB platform to keep cost as well as rigidity under check. Both the variants are powered by 2.0L, four cylinder diesel engine producing 177 HP and 350 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed dual clutch gearbox while both trims are rear wheel drive as standard.

VW Passat measures 4767 mm in length, 1832 mm in width and 1456 mm in height. This makes it 13 mm shorter, 12 mm wider and 13 mm lower than the last generation model. It comes with 2791 mm of extensive wheelbase for impressive legroom and comfort.
This new platform helps keep weight under check and helps Passat tip the scale at 70 kg less than the older model. These dimensions and underpinnings guarantee luxury wrapped driving experience to the all new Passat buyers. At its current price tag, Passat rivals Skoda Superb, Honda Accord and Toyota Camry in its segment.
Volkswagen keeps safety under check all the time as Passat comes equipped with nine airbags, parking assist with rear view camera, LED headlamps, ABS, electronic stability control, hill start assist and hands free parking.
Passat comes loaded with other luxury features like three zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable seats and impressive alloy wheels. Buyers can choose from six beautiful color options namely Oryx White Pearl effect, Deep Black Pearl effect, Pyrit Silver Metallic, Atlantic Blue Metallic, Black Oak Brown Metallic and Mangan Grey Metallic.
