Toyota has unveiled the new Fortuner Leader Edition enhancing its popular SUV with several cosmetic upgrades and an additional safety feature. The Leader Edition distinguishes itself with three new dual-tone exterior colors: Super White, Platinum Pearl, and Silver Metallic, each paired with a stylish black roof. It sports 17-inch black alloy wheels and gloss black spoilers at both the front and rear bumpers, installed by the dealerships.
A notable upgrade in this edition is the inclusion of a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), a feature derived from the higher-end Fortuner Legender.
Powertrain Options
Under the hood, the Fortuner Leader Edition retains the familiar 2.8-liter diesel engine found in the standard model. It offers both manual and automatic transmission options, with the manual variants producing 204 PS and 420 Nm of torque, and the automatics delivering the same power but increased torque of 500 Nm. This edition is available exclusively in the rear-wheel-drive configurations.
Standard Features
Beyond the TPMS, the Leader Edition maintains the same array of features as the standard Fortuner. These include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, a six-speaker sound system, wireless phone charging, and a powered tailgate.

While exact prices are yet to be revealed, the standard diesel rear-wheel-drive Fortuner variants are priced between Rs 35.93 lakh and Rs 38.21 lakh (ex-showroom). The Leader Edition is expected to command a premium of approximately Rs 50,000 due to its additional features and aesthetic enhancements. Competing against models like the MG Gloster Blackstorm, Jeep Meridian Overland, and Skoda Kodiaq, the Fortuner Leader Edition aims to offer a blend of luxury and distinction within the SUV segment.
