To make it a more value for money SUV, Tata Motors has revised Safari with updated features and added more bling to it. These advanced features can be seen in the top-spec variants - XZ, XZ+, XZA, and XZA+. After the launch of Mahindra’s XUV700, Tata decided to give the latest technology touch to the Safari to match the taste of tech-savvies.

The upgraded features include WiFi connectivity, from which the passengers can use the internet on their respective mobile phones. An 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with added wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play compatibility also displays the Air Quality Index (AQI) on the screen. The upgraded Safari also has an air purifier in the cabin to maintain AQI. Apart from that, the wireless charging facility has also been introduced in the car. The charging pad is placed ahead of the drive mode selector console.

Tata Safari Gets Software Update (New Features)

Tata Safari’s variants are bountifully loaded with advanced features. The exteriors are stunning. The front is studded with DRL’s (Day Time Running Lights) and projector headlights. Other exterior features include machined alloy wheels, outside rearview mirrors with indicators embedded in them, roof rails and a sunroof.

Talking about the interiors, the car has a ventilated seat dressed in diamond-quilted genuine leather. The cabin houses an instrument cluster with a 7-inch colour TFT display, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shifter knob, an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, mood lights, and a parking sensor with a display.

Other than that, the Kryotec 2.0L turbocharged 1956cc diesel engine combined with a 6-speed gearbox generates 170 HP at 3750rpm and a peak torque of 350 Nm at 1750–2500rpm. Tata claims they haven’t touched the mechanical parts other than the software upgrades in the updated Safari, but it is not yet clear if the price range fluctuates due to the added features.
