Tata Introduces Dark Editions for Nexon and Nexon EV

Both the Tata Nexon and Nexon EV are now available in Dark edition variants, offering customers a sleek and stylish option in the SUV lineup. While both petrol and diesel variants of the Nexon feature the Dark edition treatment, only the long-range variant of the Nexon EV is available in this special edition.

Dark Edition Features

The Tata Nexon and Nexon EV Dark editions showcase an all-black exterior shade with blacked-out 16-inch alloy wheels, giving them a distinct and sophisticated look. Additionally, both models sport a ‘Dark’ badge on their side fenders, with the ‘Nexon’ badges also blacked out. However, the ‘EV’ badge on the Nexon EV Dark edition is highlighted in blue, distinguishing it from the internal combustion engine (ICE) variant.

Inside, both the Nexon and Nexon EV feature all-black interiors with leatherette seat upholstery, enhancing the premium feel. The headrests also bear ‘Dark’ branding, adding a touch of exclusivity to the cabin.

Feature List

No changes have been made to the feature list with the introduction of the Dark editions. Both SUVs are equipped with a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, a single-pane sunroof, and wireless charging. The Nexon EV boasts a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, vehicle-to-load (V2L), and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) functionalities. Safety features include six airbags, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Powertrain Options

  • Nexon Petrol: 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with 120 PS and 170 Nm, available with 6-speed MT, 6-speed AMT, and 7-speed DCA transmissions.
  • Nexon Diesel: 1.5-litre diesel engine with 115 PS and 260 Nm, available with 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT transmissions.
  • Nexon EV Medium Range: 30 kWh battery pack with 129 PS and 215 Nm, claimed range of 325 km.
  • Nexon EV Long Range: 40.5 kWh battery pack with 144 PS and 215 Nm, claimed range of 465 km.

The Dark edition is available for both petrol and diesel variants of the Nexon, but only the long-range variant of the Nexon EV. The Nexon EV Dark carries a premium of Rs 20,000 over its corresponding variant. Tata has not yet provided variant-wise prices for the Nexon and Nexon EV Dark editions. The Nexon competes with models like the Maruti Brezza and Hyundai Venue, while the Nexon EV is positioned against the Mahindra XUV400 EV, MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Kona Electric
