Suzuki has officially launched the V-Strom 800DE in India, following its debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2024 alongside the GSX-8S. This new model replaces the now-discontinued Suzuki V-Strom 650XT and joins the Hayabusa and Katana in Suzuki's big bike lineup in India.
Pricing and Competition
The 2024 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE enters the market with an introductory price of Rs 10,30,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). It stands in competition against rivals like the Honda XL750 Transalp, BMW F 850 GS, and Triumph Tiger 900, undercutting them significantly by Rs 70,000, Rs 2.65 lakh, and Rs 3.40 lakh, respectively.

Available in three colors: Glass Mat Mechanical Gray, Glass Sparkle Black, and Champion Yellow No. 2.
Key Features
The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE is entirely new, featuring a 776cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crankshaft, delivering 84.3PS and 78Nm of torque. It has a 6-speed transmission and a slip-and-assist clutch as standard.
The bike sports a vertically stacked hexagonal LED headlight, indicators, and taillights along with the signature beak characteristic of previous V-Strom models. Its 5-inch color TFT instrument console offers day and night display modes, accompanied by a USB charging port on the left side. Additionally, it boasts a windscreen with 3-step height adjustability and a spacious 20-liter fuel tank.
Equipped with Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.), the bike offers three riding modes: Active, Basic, and Comfort, alongside features like a bi-directional quick-shifter, ride-by-wire, and traction control. It also includes a G (Gravel) mode and the option to deactivate the rear ABS for off-road adventures.
Built on a new rigid steel frame, the V-Strom 800DE features a 220mm Showa inverted fork with preload adjustability, compression, and rebound damping at the front, and a 220mm preload-adjustable Showa mono-shock at the rear.
It rides on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoked wheels, fitted with 90-section front and 150-section rear tube tires from Dunlop. Braking duties are handled by 320mm dual discs at the front and a single disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS. The bike weighs 230kg (kerb), boasts a ground clearance of 220mm, and offers a seat height of 855mm.
