The results of Frost & Sullivan, a well-known growth consultancy firm in India support this reputation. Their Total Cost Of Ownership Benchmark analysis places Kia in a favorable position.
Low Maintenance Costs: Kia Carens and Seltos
Kia made its entry into the Indian market with the Seltos and has since expanded its presence across various car segments. The company's commitment to offering value was highlighted when Frost & Sullivan reported lower total ownership and maintenance costs for the Kia Sonet compared to the industry average in December 2023.
The latest analysis by Frost & Sullivan includes the Kia Carens and Seltos showing that these models excel in terms of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) compared to their competitors. They appeal to Indian customers on a tight budget since they also show cheaper maintenance expenses. Customer loyalty is further enhanced by Kia's initiatives such as the K-Codes program.
Kia Carens: A Leader in Maintenance Savings
The Kia Carens, marketed as a Recreational Vehicle (RV) stands out for having the lowest maintenance costs in its category, competing with premium MPVs like the Maruti Suzuki XL6 and Mahindra Marazzo. The Carens' gasoline and diesel versions were both taken into account in the analysis.
Compared to the industry average, the petrol variants of the Carens offer 21% more savings in maintenance costs, while the diesel variants provide 26% more savings. The diesel variants are not only cheaper to maintain but also have the lowest acquisition costs in their segment.
Kia Seltos: Setting the Standard for Compact SUVs
The Kia Seltos, the brand's first offering in India, continues to impress with its low maintenance costs. The petrol variants of the Seltos offer at least 17% more savings in maintenance costs compared to the industry average. The diesel variants share the top spot for maintenance costs with the Hyundai Creta, as they are similar vehicles under the hood. The Seltos also ranks high in terms of Total Cost of Ownership, securing the second-best spot for diesel variants and the third-best for petrol variants.
