The 2019 model of the TVS Jupiter Grande edition has been officially launched by the brand at an ex-showroom price tag of INR 62,346. The new scooter variant has been allotted a place above the Jupiter Classic variant, which is presently available in the market at a price tag of INR 59,990. One of the major features that set the new Jupiter Grande edition apart from the rest is the Bluetooth connectivity.
The new segment-first feature from the brand has been christened as ‘SmartXonnect’. The Bluetooth feature offered to the Jupiter Grande is the same as seen on the NTorq 125 though the latter has been equipped with a fully-digital instrument console while the former features a semi-digital instrument panel.
The TVS’ smartphone application allows the rider to connect his smartphone to the scooter which further offers the text and other notifications in addition to the riding units. The notifications are only offered to the Android phones while the Bluetooth connectivity is possible for both the Android and iPhone users.
In addition to the call alerts, text notifications, the instrument panel also offers a helmet reminder feature. It is a small pop up icon that comes up every time the scooter is started and reminds the rider to wear a helmet. The over speeding alert feature, on the other hand, offers an over speeding notification on the screen whenever the rider goes beyond the speed limit. The rider has to set the default speed limit for the alert to work efficiently while it can also get the default data from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Coming to the cosmetic changes, the TVS Jupiter Grande now features a new blue paint scheme in addition to getting new alloy wheels, chrome highlights as well as a new cross-stitched seat cover. Powering the scooter is the same 109.7cc engine that does duty on the ZX variant. The engine is capable of churning out a maximum power of 8HP and a peak torque of 8.4Nm. The recently launched Jupiter Grande competes in the market with the likes of Hero Maestro Edge and the Honda Activa 5G.
