Himalayan Fi Launched in US: Royal Enfield Himalayan was recently launched in the US for $4,499 (INR 2.90 lakh approx.) Brought into the country as a CBU, the price rise in the motorcycle was just 50% of the original Indian price. The present manufacturing plant of Himalayan is situated in Chennai, India.
The low price tag for US market makes Royal Enfield Himalayan the most affordable adventure built motorcycle of America. Rivals like Versys-X 300 and Honda CRF250L Rally are priced much higher at $5,399 and $5,899 respectively. This translates to INR 3.50 lakh and INR 3.80 lakh respectively.

Himalayan is a true adventure tourer, built exclusively for every kind of surface a human could imagine while riding. It is powered by a 411 cc, oil cooled and fuel injected engine producing 24.5 BHP at 6500 rpm and 32 Nm at 4250 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The power values may feel puny in front of proper liter class tourers but when compared to its competition, Himalayan has the most healthy torque figure at earliest possible rpm. It weighs too much at 191 kg but when it comes to stability, the same high weight comes into action.
It can cruise all day at US national average speed (112-120 kmph) and thus, proves equally effective at both highway as well as no road conditions. Himalayan comes with 220 mm of ground clearance, proving its worth among selected motorcycles that can crawl rocks without scrapping their belly.
Front and rear wheel travel is also class leading while riders can achieve a top speed of 145 kmph on straight roads with much ease. Himalayan is a game changer for adventure lovers as before its arrival, buyers had no other option than Kawasaki Versys 650 or Benelli 600GT.
