Cute on the outside, mean on the inside – The dapper Porsche 911R equipped with a flat-six 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine, was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show yesterday.
Porsche 911R can zoom from zero to go in a mere 3.8 seconds, with a top speed maxing at 323 Km/h (201 Mph). The car's motor punches out a power of 500 horses, and a peak torque of 460 NM @ 6250 rpm. This setup is mated to a six speed gearbox which features an auto rev match.
The 911R is one the lightest 991's, tipping the scales at measly 1370 kilos. Porsche has employed quite a few weight-cutting methods including but not limited to a carbon-fiber bonnet and front arches, a titanium exhaust and a magnesium roof.
Stepping inside, we get a retro-contemporary feel with the car's classic ambiance getting fitted with modern technologies like R-specific Steering wheel, carbon-fiber bucket seats etc. On the outside, the Porsche has excluded the GT3 RS styled rear wing, and coated the body in clear-cut while color with complementary stripes.
Porsche is already accepting orders for the 911R and it comes with a price tag of $184,900. Porsche has said that they plan to produce just 991 units of this sports car.
