Triumph is set to launch a new motorcycle this year, as confirmed by Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto. It's speculated that this new model could be the anticipated Triumph Thruxton 400. Moreover, Bajaj hinted at an exciting prospect—Triumph will introduce a new motorcycle annually for the next three years, igniting anticipation for potential releases like the Triumph Speedmaster 400 or a Tiger 400.
Design and Features
The Triumph Thruxton 400 is assured to charm riders with its cafe racer styling, characterized by a frame-mounted half-fairing enveloping the headlight and windshield, complemented by clip-on handlebars reminiscent of its earlier sightings. The Triumph Speed 400 serves as the model for the headlamp unit adding its vintage appearance.
Performance and Handling
Remaining true to its roadster roots, the Thruxton 400 is anticipated to retain key features such as a 43mm inverted fork and gas-charged preload adjustable mono-shock suspension. Braking duties will be entrusted to a 300mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear, ensuring confident stopping power. Under the hood, it will house a robust 339cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine generating 40PS at 8000 rpm and 37.5Nm at 6500 rpm.
Price and Launch
Enthusiasts can expect the pricing of the Triumph Thruxton 400 to mirror that of the Triumph Scrambler 400 X, around the Rs 2.62 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. The eagerly awaited café racer is slated for launch in India towards the end of 2024, with a probable debut at EICMA 2024, setting the stage for an exhilarating ride ahead.
