Lumax Auto Technologies has approved a planned investment of around ₹150 crore in a new mechatronics facility at Manesar, Haryana. Its board disclosure dated 24 October 2026 says the project will make electronic components including body control modules, with commissioning expected in two phases starting in Q3 FY2028. The company projects peak annualised turnover of around ₹500 crore after commissioning. Those figures describe a planned project and expected business scale, rather than an operating plant or revenue already achieved.

The Manesar project: investment, scope and timing

CommissioningTwo phases, starting Q3 FY2028
Expected peak annualised turnoverAround ₹500 crore after commissioning

Why a mechatronics facility matters to the auto supply chain

Vehicle electronics are increasingly part of how everyday functions are controlled and integrated. A body control module is one example of that electronic layer. The Manesar proposal therefore concerns a different type of manufacturing capability from a simple increase in the number of complete vehicles assembled.

For the supply chain, the useful questions are what components can be made, how they will be validated, and when production becomes available to vehicle manufacturers. A board-approved investment establishes intent and funding direction, but not the answer to every one of those execution questions.

Investment, commissioning and turnover are different measures and should be read separately.

₹500 crore turnover is not a capacity or profit figure

The disclosure describes expected peak annualised turnover. That is a projected revenue scale after commissioning; it is not a number of modules per year, a profit forecast or current sales from the new site. Similarly, the ₹150 crore capital outlay is a planned investment, rather than evidence that the entire amount has already been spent.

The two-phase commissioning plan also deserves careful reading. A starting quarter does not mean both phases will be completed simultaneously, and the reviewed disclosure does not supply a separate completion date for each phase. Those milestones should be checked as execution updates appear.

What remains to be established

  • Phase-specific commissioning and operating milestones.

  • Physical production capacity expressed in appropriate units.

  • Detailed product mix and validation progress.

  • Named customer nominations where separately disclosed.

  • Actual turnover contribution once production begins.

The reviewed announcement does not establish site area, employment numbers or a construction-progress status. It should also be kept distinct from other Lumax projects; figures for a different location cannot be combined into the Manesar plan without a clear basis.

The Lumax Manesar mechatronics investment is a concrete board-approved step toward additional electronics manufacturing. Its significance will become clearer as the planned investment, commissioning phases and projected turnover are followed by documented operating milestones.
