The Delhi ban has forced most of the car makers into the petrol game. Land Rover, the famous off-road luxury car maker has been under the axe for last 6 months due to its large capacity diesel engines in the cars. Recently, Land Rover has launched the Discovery Sport with a 2.0 L petrol motor at INR 56.50 lakh. The car will be available in the HSE trim while the engine is expected to produce 237 BHP from its 4-cylinder layout.
The car will be soon available across its 23 dealerships across India while the most effective step would be at the Delhi dealerships where the sale was banned from last 6 months. The car offers great off-road and towing capabilities, demonstrated recently in the train pulling stunt by the Discovery Sport carrying a diesel motor.
The diesel engine on the same is a 2.2 L, 4-cylinder unit producing 148 BHP and 430 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and uses features like all terrain progress system, which can even be called as cruise control of the off-road terrain.
