KTM has introduced a new low-cost edition of the 390 Adventure. This new KTM ADV starts at Rs 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes it Rs 58,000 less expensive than the existing KTM 390 Adventure. The existing KTM 390 ADV costs Rs 3.38 lakh in the Indian market. The goal of releasing the KTM 390 Adventure X is to make the bike more accessible to a larger audience.
KTM has deleted a slew of electronics from the 390 Adventure to keep the price at Rs 2.8 lakh. That includes traction control, a quick-shifter, and cornering ABS. KTM has preserved the dual-channel ABS setup with the option to turn off ABS at the rear wheel. This nifty feature allows the rider to slide the bike while riding off-road.
The 390 Adventure X also lacks the Bluetooth-enabled TFT display. Instead, KTM opted for an LCD display for this new 390 Adventure. Apart from lacking a slew of gadgets, the 390 Adventure X is identical to the present model. Down to the all-LED lights, bodywork, engine, and suspension. Orange and Dark Galvano are two colour options.
KTM 390 Adventure represents excellent value for money. For anyone looking for a strong adventure motorbike without a lot of frills, this new ADV is the option. The 390 ADV X is Rs 36,000 more expensive than the KTM 250 Adventure. Another competitor that the KTM 390 Adventure targets is BMW G310 GS, which the X model undercuts by Rs 40,000.
Compared to the Royal Enfield Himalayan (Rs 2.15 lakh), the KTM 390 Adventure X is Rs 65,000 more expensive. While the difference is significant, the KTM has a more modern and powerful engine that will sit at highway speeds than the RE. The KTM 390cc engine can make a max power of 43.5 HP and a peak torque of 37 Nm.
