In India's mainstream off-road segment, the Hero Xpulse 200 Pro and the Royal Enfield Himalayan have been defining the off-road experience. However, KTM is set to shake things up with the 390 Adventure, which is more of an adventure tourer. The upcoming 390 Adventure with the new 399 platform is expected to raise the bar even further.

For those seeking even more off-roading prowess, the 390 Enduro offers a stripped-down version of the 390 Adventure, focusing on lower weight and enhanced off-road capabilities. Featuring larger wheels and higher ground clearance the 390 Enduro is designed to tackle challenging terrain with ease.

Key Differences Between 390 Enduro and 390 Adventure

Visually, the 390 Enduro stands taller and features a more minimalistic design compared to the 390 Adventure. It lacks a fairing and windscreen, opting for flatter and sleeker reflective LED headlights, a taller handlebar, a flatter enduro-style seat, and a different tail section with integrated grab rails. The rider footpegs are slightly center-set, and they feature a conventionally positioned TFT instrument cluster.

In contrast, the 390 Adventure is more oriented towards touring, featuring an upright-mounted instrument cluster, a fairing with an integrated windscreen, a wider and stepped seat, and pronounced grab rails for the pillion. It also boasts a twin-pod projector LED headlight setup ideal for longer journeys.

Similar Componentry and Engine

Both the 390 Enduro and 390 Adventure share similar componentry, including adjustable USD telescopic front forks from WP, an off-set mono-shock rear suspension setup, a banana-shaped swingarm, the same main frame, similar braking hardware, underbelly exhaust, and a saree guard.

Powering both bikes is the same 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC 4V engine as the 2024 KTM 390 Duke, expected to deliver around 45 bhp and 45 Nm of torque. Features such as ride-by-wire, cruise control, 6-speed gearbox, and electronic aids will also be included.
