2 New Kawasaki Dirt Bikes Launched in India: Kawasaki recently launched the KLX450R and KX450F in India for INR 8.49 lakh and INR 7.97 lakh respectively. While both the names hint at same sized engine capacity (449cc), fuel systems for both these bikes are completely different.
Kawasaki KLX450R is carburetor equipped, comes loaded with headlight and taillight, carries 12.0:1 compression ratio and liquid cooling as standard while KX450F is fuel injected, has no headlight, carries 12.8:1 compression ratio and water cooling in this package. In other words, the former is road legal while latter is not to be driven on road.

Kawasaki KLX450R is made to take on any type of surface, whether it be road, forest, rocks or desert. It comes with electric starter, full digital console, LED tail light and perimeter frame. Enduro riding experience stays always alive through 48mm upside down front forks, monoshock with adjustable spring preload, 250mm front and 240mm rear disc.
Carrying an 8 liter fuel tank, KLX450R can travel long distance when compared to enduro bikes of its segment. Buyers would love riding this 126 kg machine due to its ultra high 315mm of ground clearance. It could have been priced better but CBUs attract a lot more tax than any other products in India.

A single 270mm disc brake is used at the front while rear comes with same 240mm unit as KLX450R. It is heavily filled with motocross spirit and waits for buyers that are trained for these types of competitions. Bookings have already started for both the bikes in India at all Kawasaki dealerships.
On the occasion of the launch, Managing Director, India Kawasaki Motors Yutaka Yamashita said: "The culture and passion for off road motorcycle need be developed in India. Right now it is a niche market and we are happy to contribute in this segment by introducing KX450F, which was awarded as world’s best motocrosser in 2016 by Cycle World."
