Jeep Renegade Compact SUV to Launch in India in 2018

If a recent report is to be believed, Jeep will launch its Renegade SUV after the arrival of Compass in India. As the same is based on the Compass platform, it can be brought with much ease and could get placed under the same. Jeep Renegade measures just 4.2 meters and rivals none other than Renault Duster and Hyundai Creta in its segment. One report even suggests that it could be placed above the Hyundai Creta with a difference of INR 1 lakh only! Jeep Renegade is built with an attitude and stands higher as well as wider than all others in competition. The company may offer the same engines as Compass on the Renegade while outputs will come down considerably. The bigger 2.0 liter motor may produce around 140 HP on the Renegade. Jeep could also brings its 1.6 liter engine that is currently being used in the Maruti's slow selling S-Cross. It would even bring costs under control for the newcomer. As even Compass will be offered in both 4x2 and 4x4 option, Renegade will also follow the same and may get 4x4 on the top spec variant only. The same will get a launch even around the end of 2018 while higher demand of localized Jeep vehicles can even push the brand to being it earlier to the market. Fiat's Ranjangaon plant can accommodate manufacturing of the Renegade while they can even help in localization of both the expected petrol and diesel engines. Jeep Renegade Petrol is expected to start @ INR 11-12 lakh rupees and the diesel model is expected to be priced around INR 12-13 lakh rupees for the base model. Renegade Series is expected to be launched in India by the end of next year,
