The India bound 2017 Jeep Compass has been unveiled by FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) through a set of images and video, detailing everything that has been added to the new car. It's design is inspired from the Grand Cherokee while its bookings for the Brazilian market has started. It has been priced between BRL 99,990 to BRL 149,990 (INR 20 lakh to INR 30 lakh, approx).

The bumper design is inspired from the Grand Cherokee while the car also features traditional Jeep grill and small projector headlamps with LED DRL's. The rear comes with wraparound LED taillights, chrome twin exhaust pipes and a roof spoiler. The inside of the car is claimed to carry premium fittings with gloss black, chrome and matte silver finishes. It uses a 8.4 inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment unit with Beats 9-speaker audio system with a subwoofer. FCA has provided 17 different engine and gearbox options on the 2017 Compass.

The car will feature both petrol and diesel engines with Jeep's 4WD Active Drive Low system. It features a 2.0 L Tigershark Flex engine with 6-speed AT for the Brazilian market. The other one is a 2.0 L MultiJet II engine with a 9-speed AT. It will go on sale in 100 markets from the starting of the next year, making it a potential product for the Indian market, where it has been said to be locally manufactured.
