Hyundai India has launched the next generation Elantra in India at a starting price of INR 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The car has been launched in a total of 5 variants named S, SX, SX AT, SX(O) and SX(O) AT. The engines on offer include the tried-and-tested 1.6 L Diesel from the Creta/Verna and the newly introduced 2.0 L Petrol. It is being offered with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. For the 1st time in India in this segment, 2016 Elantra comes equipped with 2 driving modes: Sport and Eco.
The new 2.0 L petrol engine is good for 152 PSwhile the diesel values remain unaltered at 128 PS. The new car has been very well placed at INR 12.99 lakh for the powerful petrol variant. It has been updated with features like HID projector headlamps, LED taillights and many more on the outside while the inside now comes with an all new interior theme with added features like new design for the centre console, new instrument console, bigger touchscreen infotainment system and many more.
