2017 Honda Activa-i was recently launched with a price tag of INR 47,913 (ex-showroom Delhi). The scooter is now BS4 compliant and comes with Auto Headlight On (AHO) function. Honda recently announced that they have manufactured the 1,50,00,000th (1.50 Crore) Activa from their Gujarat plant. Activa-i now comes with dual tone paint scheme, body colored rear view mirrors and new decals. The entry level Activa-i is for those who wish to go with the brand name but are looking for a scooter with compact dimensions.

The engine powering Activa-i is a 109 cc, single cylinder engine producing 8 BHP at 7000 rpm and 8.94 Nm at 5500 rpm. It weighs just 103 kg and comes with the same automatic gearbox as Activa 4G. The scooter offers 18 liters of underseat storage, Honda combi braking system, optional mobile charging socket and tubeless tyres on 10 inch wheels. The dual tone shades offered are named as Orchid Purple Metallic, Neo Orange Metallic, Lush Magenta Metallic, Black and Imperial Red Metallic. Honda is currently a leader in scooter segment with it's Activa selling more than 2 lakh units every month. The scooters on offer are Activa-i, Activa 3G, Dio, Aviator and Activa 125. The closes rivals to these scooters include TVS Jupiter, Yamaha Fascino, Suzuki Access and Hero Maestro. All of the scooters fall in 110-125 cc segment and prices for the same start well below INR 50,000. The convenience of these scooters reignited the once dead Indian scooter market, further getting aid from the automatic gearbox options.
