The GST regime has seen a uniform implementation of indirect tax all over the country. GST stands for Goods and Service Tax. Harley-Davidson has updated their price list after the GST effecting prices this July. The prices have been revealed on their official website. All the HD models from Harley have seen a price revision all over the country.
As bikes above 350cc are getting a heavier GST tax rate, Harley Davidson has also experienced the hit due to the increase in the prices. The price increase from the company range from INR 16,000 to INR 2,18,000. This remains just an ex-showroom price thing, apart from that even insurance and RTO charges are said to increase in various other states.
Harley-Davidson is an American manufacturer based in Gurgaon in India. The above 700cc segment for this company is very popular in the country. And it is obvious that high end bikes are taking a hit with GST tax rates going to 31% on bikes above 350cc. The previous tax rate was 30 percent on all the bikes.
Bikes below 350cc bracket however will take the benefit with 28% uniform tax rate, thanks to GST. Harley Davidson have classified their models into 6 categories namely Street, Sportser, Dyna, Softail, Touring and CVO. The price inflation start from Street 750 which has an INR 16,000 price increase and goes up to INR 2,18,000 price increase on Road Glide Special. Meanwhile, the price of Fat Boy has been increased by INR 66,000.
