Ford India finally started the nationwide bookings for its Mustang GT in India. In the first phase, the bookings were limited to just Delhi and Mumbai. It was first launched in July 2016 with a price tag of INR 65 lakh. Just in its first month, it became the best selling sports car of India and soon all of the 100 allotted units were sold in the country. Ford Mustang GT is the top spec car from the lineup, carrying loads of equipment as standard.
Ford Mustang has been a dream car of many in India and its introduction in the RHD countries made it even more desirable than ever. However, Ford could have offered the other two models with a 3.6 liter V6 and 2.3 liter Ecoboost in the country that are more emission friendly and cost effective. If sales keep on going up like the past few months for various car makers, they will be then more willing to bring all the models into India.
